I caught that as well. He was watching the tv monitor and thought the blue line was the first down line.
the 1st one listed -- the fumble near the goal line -- I don't think you can fault the refs. The replays shown on TV had the ball hidden from play by the defender. It seemed likely that the ball came out before the runner's rear hit the turf, but it wasn't definitive. Unless the refs had access to a video that wasn't shown on TV, and it was from an angle that captured when the ball came free, the refs couldn't overturn the ruling on the field.
Same. He’d be tolerable without the nicknames and outbursts and just acted normal. Of course he won’t because it’s his schtick. He just gets more and more carried away. Reminds me of Leslie Nielsen umpiring a baseball game.

Agree. Johnson is the most annoying football announcer. He's a legend in his own mind.
I’ve got four games on simultaneously from different parts of the country because in one way or another they all somehow have implications for PSU. That’s the new reality of this expanded playoff.
Watching the replay, the UM player tackled Howard dead on the shoulder, so that's why I thought it was a shoulder injury but you could be right if Howard's head got whipped backwards from the blow.
He just looked rally dazed to me. Then again, I'm not a doctor, nor did I sleep at a Holiday Inn.
