Ok, glad we won, bowl eligible and all. We played one of the worst teams in the nation and could not put them away and gave up almost 500 yards. Jugular is not in our vocabulary.
Play #1: Up by 17, get ball coming out of halftime. Drive and score and game probably out of reach. 3rd and 9….Brooks catches a 7.5 yard pass at the sideline with the cornerback still 4 yards away. Instead of turning up parallel to the sideline and getting the first down to keep the drive alive, he turns to go inside right into a charging safety a yard short. Punt. It’s the little things.
Play #2: on the Vandy TD drive to cut it to 10, the Vandy receiver grabs our DBs facemask and violently yanks the head down bloodying our guys lip…..ref calls us for PI/holding.
I will let you all figure out the analogy.
