IMO Pickett was nervous tonight. Hopefully he rebounds tomorrow and in The Tourney. I thought the others picked it up a tic and it was just enough.
PSU now 4-0 playing in the State of Illinois this season!
Yep. This time of year free throws are crucial. Won’t win too many games making 18 and missing 11 in a game.

Lundy, an 80% free-throw shooter, missed one in the final seconds that would have put us up by four. Instead, Northwestern got one more chance and nearly won at the buzzer.

Also, I like our strategic game plan if going to overtime so that Maryland Indiana doesn't end until almost midnight and throws their sleep schedule off.

online gamblling is finally legal in MA as of today. Promo if you signed up before it was legal, you get 8 free $25 superbets (need to use in 7 days) when it goes live. I would have been all over PSU/Illinois and bet real money on it, too ... but that was too early. Didn't like this game at all (outcome or over/under), but I was busy all day and didn't look at anything else ... and felt like I needed to bet on something.
So I took the over at 130.5.
2 minutes go by ... no score. Seriously?
5 minutes go by ... 4-0. WTF?
10 minutes into it ... they're on pace to score 56 points between them. GFY!
Then near the end, and I'm just "welp, this won't go to OT, but even if it did, I probably still wouldn't get there."
It wasn't until Lundy made that last FT (and it likely should have been a jump ball the time before that, and he almost ran out the clock before getting fouled) that I cleared the 130.5 hurdle.
This is why I don't gamble on sports ... this was nothing money ... $25 ... and wasn't even my money I was gambling ... and it still turned an entertainment option into a stressor.

I like when they get him the ball around the foul line and let him operate rather than having him start operating from 35 feet out. PSU will be a handful for a lot of teams come next week. It's all about the match-ups. Has been fun, maybe more ahead?
I agree. He's better when he posts up rather than bringing the ball down and trying to weave through the defense.
I thought Clary provided a spark tonight with his quickness and driving ability.
Random musings:
- Ugly first half for us. Luckily NW couldn't hit the broad side of a barn either.
- Lundy's 3 in OT: No! No! No! YES!!!
- BIG player of the week fouls out with 3 pts but we still win.
- Free throws... got to do better. Luckily it didn't decide THIS game.
- Love that Henn comes off the bench with confidence to get the first 5 pts.
- Clary is a boost of energy off the bench. He's going to be really good in the next couple seasons.
- Thrilled we're a lock for the big dance, but... we swept Illinois and NW, and have nearly identical records as them now. And are clearly hotter right now than both of them. Yet they're both projected to be higher seeds than us.
There is a little part of me that thinks it’s ok if PSU does not advance after tonight. Just to get the kids some extra rest Although getting to the finals would be an amazing opportunity for the program.
I won’t be jumping out of any windows today, myself.

Get to the finals!!! Guys only need 2 days to be ready to play again, they will be fine for next week no matter what happens. Bigger problem is today, 3rd game in 3 days, especially for a team that relies on the 3 as much as PSU does. Can’t see it happening but I will be watching. If they turn it over like they did last night this could be ugly
And he’s been getting beat on, grabbed, yanked, and held for the last half of the season. That tends to wear a body down.
Tired is an excuse, the Buckeyes played 1 game more, and played without their best player yesterday and beat MSU.
No I don’t expect them to beat Indiana. Not because they’re tired but because they are playing a more complete team. We need a 20 point effort out of someone other than Lundy or Pickett
