Two goals in the first 44 seconds of the 1st and then scored another midway through a 5-minute PP in 2nd (Michigan goal negated and PP for PSU following PSU challenge). Gave up two there in second half of 2nd. Gotta get big mo back!

Guy just isn’t getting it done. We’re well past being a new program. The sh|t going on now just can’t happen. He’s been here a long time now. Can’t have it.

Well, it’s starting to look like we’re not a tournament caliber team. That’s a shame since they were off to a great start. The team has a massive problem with holding on the leads or even winning on Saturday nights in the conference.

I was also annoyed at the blatant bias of the announcing crew BTN picked for the game.

Too early to count PSU out of anything. Tournament caliber team? I'd say yes. Tournament winner? IMHO May need to tweak some things. I don't know the answer to the following question. Does your team stop pressing after a lead? Seems like your team is best when relentlessly attacking.

Regarding Michigan, they may be the best team and peaking right now. IIRC many thought that they were the favorites before the season started. Portillo is a big and tough goalie to score on.

A month until the conference tourney is eternity. Many of the traditionally good teams seem to be struggling as well. This could be a just get into the NCAAs and anything can happen type of year.

The remainder of your season:

at OSU

Minnesota (at Pegula (After the bye))

Wisconsin (at Pegula)

Obviously the at OSU series will most likely be the biggest of the season.

So if you win that series, the worst is to play Wisconsin again in a best of three? The best obviously Would be to win out and win the regular season crown. I didn't do the math, but I think you'd need us to drop our last three series? Anyway, the conference tourney may not matter much because of the Pairwise rankings. I think it is up to date. You are 6th. Hold on and you are in the NCAA's.

We finish the season after a bye week with Wisconsin, then you at Pegula, then OSU at home. Of the three, At Pegula scares me the most. On the road on a smaller sheet of ice? You already gave us all we could handle at home (split). Finishing with OSU at Mariucci (home/ another first series split), this could get interesting. Obviously, I am hoping that a sweep against Wisconsin will give us the regular season crown, buit that is not exactly a gimme. We are good, but not good enough to play cute and still win.

Pairwise guys care to chime in?

Outside of conference, other than SCSU, is anyone else unbeatable? BU? Quinnipiac? has Quinnipiac played anyone?

Am I wrong in thinking that this is still wide open?

I think it is wide open and any team in say top 10 could win it. No team looks unbeatable right now.

Definitely a year where just getting into regionals gives you a legit shot, minus say 3 or 4 of the teams that will make it.

Congratulations! Nice win. We are reaching that point every game matters. A sweep obviously keeps you in the title hunt and most importantly puts you in a better position pairwise to play in your home state (Allentown, PA ) for NCAA Regionals.

Bad day for OSU hockey in general as our Women's hockey team took down the lady buckeyes as well. Let's hope for two sweeps tomorrow!

I haven't heard an announcer (perhaps OSU student broadcast) have that much trouble with a name like Connor MacEachern since fabled NEPA sports reporter Joe Zone's ill-fated and repeated efforts at pronouncing Red Schoendienst. For entertainment purposes, I wish MacEachern scored a couple more goals.

We will play in Allentown even if we were somehow to fall to #14 in the PW. To me it is all about being no lower than a 2 seed in the region. For me, get 2 seed in B1G and make it to the finals. Would love to see win B1G.

Not a successful weekend IMO. Split is better than 2 losses but really needed to get the sweep. Can they split with Minn (minimum) and not f up getting 6 pts vs Wisconsin?

Given the current four-way tie between OSU - Michigan - PSU - MSU, Michigan and OSU having two extra games to play, and MSU having the edge over PSU in the two series they played (MSU has Michigan and Wisconsin left), it seems chances for PSU to be in the top four in the B1G at the end of the season are pretty slim. Bummer.

At home on what I presume is a smaller sheet of ice? I'd say yes. I think my Gophers know that they need to bring their A game or they can be run out of Happy Valley just as easy as they can get a split. PSU and Michigan when playing at their best are the most dangerous. Protect Souliere (sp?) and it could very well happen.

Wisconsin? They are hot garbage. We will get there very best though this upcoming weekend. Our Programs hate each other. Only UND (North Dakota) is hated more on the ice. OSU is very solid and will be an excellent barometer for whether or not we are tournament ready. Our week before last Friday night game was the one complete game the squad has played. It was special. Anything short of that and we are just as beatable as almost any other team in this league.

Let’s go Lions and take game 1 vs the Gophers! (Apologies to our Gopher friend!)

Gophers strike first. 1-0 Minny 12:30 to go

PP for the Lions. 7:04!to go first.

No joy on the PP.

Ugh, Gophers pot another. 2-0 1:28 to go first.

1st is over down 2-0.

And the Gophers come flying out and are now up 3-0. 19:21 to go 2nd

Bad to worse. 4-0 17:04 left 2nd.

And now a Gopher PP to kill. Under review for major.

Review determined major on PSU as well as minor. Minny 5on 3.

Minny scores, 5-0. Better get ready for tomorrow night.

6-0, 10:16 to go 2nd. Still almost two minutes to kill.

Lions finally score, 6-1, 5:33 to go 2nd.

Minny scores again 7-1. 3:39 to go 2nd.

End 2nd. 7-1. I dont think the roar zone has ever seen five goals in a single period.

Lions make it 7-2. 2:48 to go.

Final. Haven't seen domination like that in quite some time.
