Please use this thread for all pre-Session 2, in-Session 2, and post-Session 2 discussions.

When: March 17, 7 pm EDT

Where: Little Caesars Arena; Detroit, MI

TV: ESPN, if that's part of your cable package.

Streaming: EPSN3.com (I believe you have to have ESPN as part of your cable package). If not, check out the ESPN app. Note: you can control the mat/match you watch with this.

Radio: The radio PBP with Jeff Byers will be streamed for free via LionVision. The pre-Session will start at 6:40 pm EDT, with the competition at 7 pm EDT. You can access the radio PBP at:

Live Brackets: You can follow the brackets on TrackWrestling at:

https://www.trackwrestling.com/Login.jsp?TIM=1647476933977&twSessionId=ddzxuhdeku

Note: The Penn State Wrestling Club also has live brackets at: https://www.pennstatewrestlingclub.org

Team Scoring: The Penn State Wrestling Club is usually the fastest with that info. Their team scoring information can be found at: https://www.pennstatewrestlingclub.org/content/tournament_team_score.php?id=27&type=team

PBP: I'm good for PBP for the entire tournament (with the caveat that by tradition, I don't provide PBP for the Championships.) That said, I encourage everyone to participate in discussing each match, providing your insight, asking your questions, and expressing your frustration with a move, with a ref's decision, with the outcome, etc. @GregPickel will also be providing information. With 8 mats being used in the round, we all could use help with mat assignments for upcoming PSU bouts (usually available from the TrackWrestling link listed above, or the Penn State Wrestling twitter account). Collectively, we've made this work for everyone in the past, and I'm sure we'll do the same this year.

We have the pigtail loser v the loser of the 3 seed, the 19 seed first. How long have they been doing that?

Who is a bigger douchebag: Nick Suriano or Vladimir Putin?

IDK man. These are kids/young men (Suriano) so I cut them some slack. I think Dake is Ok. Taylor seems to like the guy.
When someone does interviews with a shirt advertising….himself, he qualifies.

Is anyone else having trouble with the mats opening on their laptop. I get to ESPN3, but when I click on the mats, they don't open. I tried rebooting my laptop and they still won't open.

I work my tail off during the NCAAs. I end up missing some wrestling action trying to do all the PBP, get mat assignments, answer questions, etc. And the NCAAs are on ESPN, with only 1 mat going, so it's not as though people don't have the option of watching it. In short, I do all that labor, and then sit back and enjoy the championships. I do participate in the Session 6 thread -- I just don't provide PBP

133 R2: #1 seed RBY vs. #16 seed Josh Koderhandt (Navy)

Per 1
RBY gets behind JK after a single for the 1st TD, 2-0. JK tried a sitout and RBY trapped him on his back and got 2 NF, 4-0 before JK rolled over. OOB with 1:23 left. JK works up, and returned. RBY trying to work a tilt, but JK is not cooperating. RBY puts him to his back on the edge but only got 1 swipe (I think); no NF. OOB with 11 sec or stall warning on RBY (not sure). End. RT @ 2:34 for RBY

Per 2
RBY defers, and JK takes bottom. JK sits out, RBY stays with him. After bit, JK is flattened. JK grabs the toe, but RBY frees that. RBY nearly gets a cradle but just returns him. JK works up, and RBY comes around and flattens JK and there's the pin @ 4:45!!!!

Koderhandt seemed to be begging to be pinned, and RBY was all too happy to oblige.

141 R2: #1 seed Nick Lee vs. #16 seed Quinn Kinner (Rider) (I'll use QK)

Per 1
Lee with a quick shot to the legs and gets the TD, 2-0. QK with a quick esc, 2-1. Lee in on a single again, and the TD is awarded after a bit, 4-1. OOB with 56 sec. RT over 1 min for Nick. Lee nearly gets back points off a sit out from QK, but nothing. End. RT @ 1:58 for Nick

Per 2
Lee takes bottom. Lee grabs an ankle, tries to step over, they scramble, and Lee gets the rev, 6-1. QK to a 3-pt stance, and then to his feet, and Nick cuts him, 6-2. Lee in on a single and spins behind for the TD, 8-2. End. RT @ 2:03 for Nick.

Per 3
QK takes neutral (I may have had that reversed as to who chose in the 2nd and the 3rd). QK shoots a head inside single, Lee sprawls, and stopped for PD with 1:16 left. QK shoots another single, Lee trying come around, he's close but can't clear the hand, and a stalemate with 28 sec. Nick needs a TD to get a major. QK shoots, Lee sprawls, Lee tries to spin behind there's the buzzer. With RT, it's a 9-2 DEC for Nick Lee
