Ugh. Can’t help but feeling like a disappointing night man!
Tough saying that with 2 champs but just really unexpected poor showings from RBY and GK takes a bit of the sweetness out from CStar and Brooks. If those were close competitive fights it would be one thing, but like this? Serious bummer.
Arujau is the real deal. His length is a major advantage. He destroyed Fix with it. Paris is the best conditioned heavyweight I’ve ever seen. In 3 matches this year against Paris, Kerk was in and couldn’t finish as Paris is also strong as an ox.

You r only disappointed if you expect 4 or 5 for 5 Each year. Did not looked gassed either. A true freshman vs 24 year old , Parris was rolling and 133 beat up Fix.

No fluke that this kid took apart Fix and RBY. RBY didn’t look quite like himself against McGee or at BIG finals despite winning. It happens, he’ll of a career for him.
I remember asking if RBY was hurt. Pretty sure it might have been the quarterfinals match I posted he look like he hurt something. Greg responded to the post he didn’t think so, but he didn’t look right.

I think it is 4

I did too, but it was close. I'm not surprised the review took so long. There were so many things to look at (when was reversal attained (doesn't matter when the on-mat ref indicated it), how long was Woods's back below 45 degrees, etc.)

Dean on Haines to Byers: "I love that kid. Obviously a talented kid but a great competitor. He has a heck of a career ahead of him. I'm excited to watch it unfold."

Dean also joked that his black eye is "developing".

They really need to do something about the length of these reviews. It should not take that long. It impacts the matches and favors the less conditioned wrestler with the long break.

the on-mat reviews are faster. Since the NCAA switched to reviews done by people other than the on-mat refs for NCAAs, it takes longer. Plus they have more camera angles at Nationals than is the norm for duals, so there is more to look at.

The 141 final review did take a long time, but as I mentioned in my earlier reply, what they were reviewing is not something that lends itself to a quick review.

I am so jaded watching these guys for the last 12 years. Team championship and 2x individual champions is something any program would want, but I am trying not to feel letdown. Reminiscent of being a Lakers fan living in S Cal in the late 1980s. No one thought it would end.

oh well, Kerk had a good plan in terms of trying to get the 1st TD. And he nearly had it. But then he gave up a TD, and he's shown he has trouble getting out from under Parris.

Kerk is so close, but needs a few more things in the arsenal to get 1 step higher up on the platform
If Kerk would get a mean streak he’ll win it next season.

Just wondering if anyone here feels RBY didn't wrestle enough this year to prepare him for the finals.
Not me. Nobody in the BT would have challenged him........with the speed Vito brought to the party. RBY has had a great career and it will be great to see what his next moves will be. I am grateful he came back.
