Game 1 about to get underway in Vegas (TNT). Should be a good series.

End 1st: 1-1

Pretty even period, though Vegas had the momentum the last five minutes.

Meh.

Hockey purity requires at least one of the original 6 teams to make this even watch worthy.

2-1, Vegas, 2nd period. Theodore with the nice move at the blue line to lose Duclair. That’s all Theodore needed to set up the slap shot.

Back and forth we go. Duclair ties it up for Florida with a wrister at 19:49 of the 2nd period. 2-2, after 2.

Stone puts Vegas up, 4-2, but they’re checking it for high sticking (Florida challenge).

Goal stands. 4-2, Vegas, 6:19 left in the 3rd. Vegas goes on the power play due to the unsuccessful challenge by Florida.

Final: Vegas 5, Florida 2. Vegas adds an empty-net goal. It was looking like anybody’s game, but Vegas took over in the 3rd.

Agree with the meh, but disagree completely with the purity required part for watch worthy.

The last SCF with an O6 team was far from must see TV.

To add to it, one O6 team trails two non-O6 teams in total cups. Another two O6 teams only lead these non-O6 teams by a single cup win. A fourth O6 team hasn’t won a cup since expansions started.

Def rooting for Vegas, but how the hell was that call upheld? Stick was clearly above his shoulder.

Anyone give a sh|t about the Stanley Cup Final? Vegas won the first two games at home, but Florida won Game 3 on their home ice last night in overtime, 3-2. So now we have a series, with Vegas up 2 games to 1. Game 4 is tomorrow night at Sunrise.

I'm enjoying it, and find myself pulling for Vegas. Playoff hockey is tremendous entertainment.

Game 4 tonight, 8 p.m. EDT, TNT

Can Florida tie it up?
Still not sure who I’d prefer to win and no particular dislike of either team. I find it pretty amazing that Florida is 7-0 in OT games this post-season and in 7 of their last 8 wins, they’ve scored 3 or fewer goals.

It’s kind of weird how much success they’ve had while fitting the underdog role to a T. Keep waiting for it to go poof like the first two games, then game 3 happened.

If Vegas wins tonight, it’s basically over. If not, series back to square one.

Vegas wins Game 4, 3-2, and takes a commanding 3-games-to-1 lead. Florida came back from a 3-0 deficit to get within a goal, but Vegas held on.

The Golden Knights can win the Cup Monday night at home.

Game 5 about to start in Las Vegas (TNT). Vegas wins and it’s over. To make matters worse for Florida, Matthew Tkachuk will not play due to injury.

Vegas takes a 1-0 lead in the 1st period. Stone with a short-handed goal. Great defense leads to a 2 on 1 chance for Vegas. They are good.
