No. He’ll get until Xmas. The Glazers jacked up this roster royally. Get Ugarte in there who lead Europe in tackles and interceptions since 2022 while actually being able to move and it will make a difference. Hell the 17 year old Collyer was better than Casemiro. Hard to blame Hag there for anything but starting Casemiro. I get it though. Against Liverpool is a tough debut for a 17 year old to start. I’m not panicking yet. That hole in front of the CB’s has been addressed but we won’t see it floor 2-3 weeks due to break. Today exposed Casemiro even further. He cannot roll him out anymore. He’s a liability.

If I'm a title contending team (ie: Arsenal), I'm not releasing players for friendlies. It's a joke leading into the NLD and City in 2 weeks along with Champions League.

Nations League isn't needed for sure. There are enough competitions out there and the players are basically year round already. I totally agree about the friendlies...no way would I send them unless they weren't getting minutes. This break however had some S. American WC qualifiers which are typically blood baths and the Nations League BS. The players are all tired of it, but $$$$ will always win out.

The only thing that kills me is the friendlies. If I'm a big club I'm only releasing players for training sessions with their national clubs. While there's no certainty they won't get injured, it's much less likely than in a competitive setting like a friendly. I know people want to see their national teams play even if it's a meaningless game, but the schedules for these players see does seem to be a bit hectic.

Yes, friendlies in preparation for some upcoming tournament is more than reasonable. But, Arsenal's captain twisting his ankle, their new left back bruising his leg and all being out for their most hated rivalry of the year is silly. Too much on the line for something that just doesn't matter.

Villa, the Phillies, and our Lions are all making me go gray. All are teams that start slow in a game and then leave you wondering why they couldn’t play that way from the beginning.

Villa have found ways to come back from a deficit and win late in all 4 of their victories this season. While it’s certainly exciting, the slow starts cannot continue. Duran is an amazing weapon, and the calls to start him increase by the day. I just don’t see Unai starting both him and Ollie, and Ollie just isn’t a bench player with his level of fitness.

These clips aren’t long enough to show some of the crisp passing that lead up to the goals. It’s been absolutely world class. Hard to believe I was watching this team wallow in the Championship on dodgy streams just a handful of years ago. It’s been a fun season to be a Villa fan!
