I didn't see City falling off a cliff and the penalties still may come for them. Chelsea has stepped it up but Liverpool is a step above right now.
They are the team I dislike the most. Pep is a good manager but his SYSTEM is so inflexible. It has evolved a bit from Barca days, but still the same, requires some really special players to win at top level. Hope they are held accountable for financial crap, but suspect they will get off with slap on wrist.

NF has made me a believer. I think this win ties them for 2nd with Arsenal. The Wolves showed some talent in the 2nd half, but they are in some trouble overall, as they are down near the bottom of the standings.

@LionJim -- how about this counter in stoppage time?

Great match going on in Carabao Cup Spurs 1-0 over Liverpool getting near end of match great first Spurs goal by Bergvall. Controversy with a crappy yellow on Bergvall early ( really wasn’t) and then a clear yellow let go by ref on Bergvall.

I came in late to watch and he was already on the ground. Looked to me like he passed out. Flu/norovirus?
The initial reaction by the Spurs players had me thinking of Erikson....like stroke or something cardiac issue related. Maybe it was just a bug as I'm not sure.

A reminder that there are no games this weekend.

As a result, there's a pretty active schedule next week, with 4 games on Tuesday, 4 games on Wednesday, and 2 games on Thursday. Weekend games return next weekend, though with all the weekday games, Saturday's schedule is only 5 games.

Havertz with his annual flop against United for a bogus PK, but this time it didn't bite MU. A man down for 60+ minutes and they win on PK's. 2 weeks in a row United has put in a full match of effort. They were down 2 men as the officiating was abysmal. Take any result for this squad, but signs of life are there in terms of effort.

Big one today in North London. Gunners have a chance to pick up points if they can. Should be a fun watch.

Arsenal gets the tieing goal on a ******** call
for a corner when ball clearly went off Arsenal defender, should have been a goal kick. VAR can be used to determine offfsides by the width of an ant’s a**crack, but can’t be used for this? WTF??!!!

The Laws of the Game 24/25 don't permit VAR to be used for a goal kick/corner kick determination.

From the Laws:

Video assistant referee (VAR) protocol

Protocol -- principles, practicalities and procedures

The VAR protocol, as far as possible, conforms to the principles and philosophy of the Laws of the Game.

The use of video assistant referees (VARs) is only permitted where the match/ competition organiser has fulfilled all the Implementation Assistance and Approval Programme (IAAP) requirements as set out in FIFA’s IAAP documents, and has received written permission from FIFA.

The use of VARs in football matches is based on a number of principles, all of which must apply in every match using VARs.

1. Principles
A video assistant referee (VAR) is a match official, with independent access to match footage, who may assist the referee only in the event of a ‘clear and obvious error’ or ‘serious missed incident’ in relation to:

a. Goal/no goal
b. Penalty/no penalty
c. Direct red card (not second yellow card/caution)
d. Mistaken identity (when the referee cautions or sends off the wrong player of the offending team)
The professional leagues have some leeway in terms of experimenting with things, but it has to be within the guidelines of the Laws of the Game.

As a BvB fan, it still hurts a little to watch him play.

As a Spurs fan, it’s agonizing to watch him play.

As a fan, it’s a joy to watch him play.

Dear Defenders,

Don't worry about this poacher coming back and working to get the ball, hold up play, or defend. Rodri clearly deserves all of the City money.

Great finisher on a great roster though.
