Every time there is movement within the coaches who are on the all-time wins list I text my PSU friends. When Saban retired, Mack Brown was the next active coach on the list. Now that Brown has been fired and it being highly unlikely that he gets another coaching job, 69 year old Kirk Ferentz and his 214 wins is next on the list. If he continues to win 8 games a year at Iowa (his current average--rounded up, mind you), then he will pass Joe Paterno's mark of 409 victories sometime in the 2050, when he is 95.
So, you are saying he has a chance.

Well hang in there @s1uggo72 It was a very good year and the off the field stuff hasn't seem to bother them. I don't know anything about Tony Gibson from over at State (about 20 miles away). I don't pay much attention to NC State athletics (seems like noise each year and nothing important ever happens).
it was a good year, and some what surprising yr. I think Huff over played his hand, and got boxed into a corner taking S Miss.
The AD here creates the drama, it would not surprise me to see him seek other opportunities elsewhere.

Please use this thread for all firings, resignations, changing teams, etc. regarding college football coaches.
May I say without casting aspersions, given my age, I am from another era. Your word was your honor. loyalty was the standard. Anything less was not acceptable. Please forgive an old man's ramblings, probably too much bourbon, or not. Sri if I caused any concern.✌️
