I’d be mildly surprised if Pickett is still on the roster next year. Yes, they gave up a pick for him, but I think the plan was always to parlay him into a better pick.

McKee has significant tools. And he’s quite a bit cheaper than a first round pick heading into the final year of his rookie deal.
McKee. No brainer

in the long run his 5th option might be cheap, I think he breaks out even more
Davis is a no-brainer option pick up. If somehow Williams comes back, then having Davis under control for two years ups his potential trade value. If Williams leaves as expected, then DT opposite Carter is less of a problem for the next year.

Not draft or player related, but #3 turns 3 tomorrow. Favorite color is green so he wanted a green cake with green frosting. Wife needed green food coloring so she went to food lion and came back with this. Keep in mind she’s a converted chargers fan so she has no idea what this means, she just saw green and of all the colors there, the gravitated to this one. #winning

Bummer, but at 34 and with two top draft picks last year at CB, the writing was on the wall.

Best of luck to him. I’m not sure he’s a starter in Philly or Detroit at 35 next year.

I think but could be wrong, it was cheaper to pay him his salary in 2024 than take the cap charge if they had released him. Its the only way I could explain this.

Per Spotrac.com, when he signed with the Birds in 2023, it was a 3-yeard, $38M contract. It included a $7,985,000 signing bonus. The kicker was that the signing bonus, the 2023 salary ($1,165,000), the 2024 salary ($1,210,000), and the 2024 option bonus (I think it was $1,528,000, but I'm not certain of that) were guaranteed. So cutting him last year did not make much sense from a dollars perspective. He would have been a $4,305,000 cap hit in 2024, and a $15,118,000 dead cap hit in 2024.

His being on IR helped both parties.
