So happy for Carter! Met him in 2023 and we have kept in touch since then-he has been a pleasure to talk too. A real gutty performance for Carter given the condition of his right knee.
What a match by Carter. Gutted it out and Lewis had no answer for him

Cade DeVos (S. Dak. St) losing in the 3rd period to Wolak from Columbia. Final, Lennox Wolak wins 4-2. Wow. That's an upset
Carter is going to be the only wrestler ever to take down 2 former Champs in one day
That ride in the 1st seemed to take the umph out of Lewis for the rest of the match

This is what pulling away looks like. Not to be confused with pulling out. That doesn't always work.
That's terrible reffing there IMO looked dirty as hell but I'm a bit biased here.
Looks like this OkSt guy keeps driving his head right into that knee. That's gotta hurt
Thought OKST wrestler focused on that knee.

#6 seed Bernie Truax vs. #3 seed Dustin Plott (Okla. St.) -- I'll use DP (lol)
I'm not feeling super confident on this match, but Truax showed nice O in R1

Truax in on a low single, fights off a whizzer and gets behind him for the TD, 3-0. DP out quickly, 3-1. Truax reaches, nothing. DP in on a single, Truax with a whizzer, Truax's knee gets taken to the side (kind of dangerous), and he gives up the TD, 3-4, and immediately signals for injury time. Looking at the replay, I would have stopped it for PD. Oh well. A little spat between Cody and the Okla. St. coaches (not sure what). Plott elects to start on bottom, and is up quickly and out, 3-5. Truax shoots and is in on a single, DP locks thru the body and eventually they are both to their feet. A scramble at the end, but the buzzer sounds.

DP takes bottom. DP is out to make it 3-6. DP shoots in on a single, and gets the other leg for the TD, 3-9. Truax works to his feet, he's lifted, Truax with a roll but DP stays with him, and eventually Truax is back flat. Truax to his feet, and he's out, 4-9. End. RT @ 48 sec for DP

Truax takes neutral. DP in on a single, Truax does a split, and DP gets the TD, 4-12. RT goes over 1 min for DP. OOB with 1:14 left. Truax is out, making in 5-12. DP in on a single, and DP gets the TD, 5-15. Truax gets an esc, 6-15. End. With 1:54 in RT, it's a 6-16 DEC for DP.
