I was cautiously hopeful about him, but had no expectation of him going from 3rd team All B10 to 1st team All SEC. He's come up huge when we absolutely had to have it with Dohm's injury.
DJ has to shrink his zone. He’s swung at every pitch he’s seen so far, and he chased an 0-1 and 0-2 out of the zone.

I get starting him though. If we sit him for a few more games then we might win a few more games. But you’re not in the tournament to win a few more games, we’re here to win it all just like the other 63 are. The only way to win it all is to get our best players playing good ball and that doesn’t happen when we sit them.
That’s what it looked like. With the way reviews are going these days, though, I don’t like leaving things to chance and it was just weird for that ball to end up the ground. At no point was there any hard contact with the glove

Correct. There’s no set time on how long he has to hold on to the ball after he applies the tag. He just has to have possession when the tag is applied, which he appeared to. Whatever happens in the immediate seconds thereafter is immaterial.
Brutal result for Stephen. 2 outs, 2 on and a high fast ball (at the letters) somehow gets dinked into short CF.

Sigh........Drizzle and Sprinkle back to their usual antics..........They've figured out Stephen here in the 4th..........
They put Stephen on the squeeze play just in time to see him hanging that breaking ball for a base hit. That was really, not a smart pitch.
This is 17ing pathetic. We aren't doing shut if we lose the first game. We barely have pitching for 3 games.
