Ditto, but what an incredible come back and incredible match. Actually both matches were great to watch.
I am biased because my daughter played D-1 volleyball and thus I have been immersed in the sport for some time. But for entertainment value and good, wholesome fun nothing beats girls volleyball like what was witnessed last night. Sure there are tears shed when losses occur and there is tension like last night but to see these incredible athletes compete with joy on their faces is uplifting and a reminder about how sports should be. The mens game is so much power that a viewer is robbed of seeing digs, ball control and sustained action. The girls game is an awesome spectator sport.

Two highly competitive matches with some outstanding VB by all 4 teams.

Sun could easily have ended up being a Pitt - Nebraska final. Pitt had 4 match pts and couldn’t put Louisville away and most of us thought Nebraska was putting PSU away in game 4.

I would just like to point out the following... (this is a partial list)

1) Penn State/Miami game 1999 - I leave game late, convinced we will lose (and fearing for my life as that was back in my drinking days and I had been criminally overserved and quite vocal as I sat surrounded by Da U degenerates)... Chaffie Fields then scores winning TD
2) Penn State/Ohio State 2016 - I leave in disgust after the safety on punt, convinced we had lost, wanting to beatthe traffic, only to hear the screams from the parking lot when FG blocked
3) Penn State/App State 2018 - I angrily pay my tab (burger and 12 diet cokes) at DFW watch party, march out the door in disgust, when App State retook lead with 1:30 left...

and ...

Last night i turn off TV, throw my remote at the wall, and march off to bed after losing set #2, missing one of the greater comebacks in Penn State history

Conincidence?

It has become a joke at the DFW watch parties. If we are losing everyone urges me to pay my tab and leave.

a shout-out to Jordan Hopp for this play in the semifinal. She went to HS in Nebraska. She verballed to Iowa State, and was there for 3 seasons She came to PSU via the portal this summer (she announced in Jan. 2024, but remained at Iowa State to complete her studies). She didn't play a lot this season, as Taylor Trammell and Maggie Mendelson got most of the minutes at MB. But she replaced Mendelson in the rotation during the Creighton match in the regional final, and then got some time against Nebraska in the last few sets. On this play, she blocked Nebraska start Harper Murray, who was scoring left and right against double teams, but Hopp handled her on a solo block, which is really difficult to do.

Yeah, I usually set my entire schedule around the game time for the Eagles. They're playing the Commanders at 1 pm on Sunday, so I'll watch the 1st half of that competition, but I will be switching to the NCAA WVB Final.

I will be watching WVB on my 15" tablet at the Journeymen Duals while watching Cael's team murder Binghamton Bearcats.

Hopefully, the ladies will beat Louisville in 3 or 4 so that I wont miss the Little Rock meet.
