A nice bit of news. He had moved back to Arkansas, and was getting recruited by Arkansas and others, though he had previously verballed to PSU.

Did Michael Carroll ever have interest in PSU? If not, why?
If our NIL money was top tier, I think recruiting would look very different today. Until there are changes to reduce the importance of NIL, I do not see how we can get another top 10 recruiting class.

This NCAA report has PSU at number 11 in projected NIL funding. It also has PSU at number 9 in AD revenue. Not bad, and they can work to improve it.

"NCAA report"?

That is nothing but a pile of numbers, drawn from thin air, put together by a guy named Patrick O'Rourke (an accountant in DC) who does stuff like that). He takes completely made up numbers regarding any number of sports related topics - puts them into ledgers - and pawns them off as click-bait sites.

It this a different process from the reports given to the BOT? Other than the click-bait of course. 😉

Apparently has a lot of free time when it's not tax season.

Right now Franklin has two of the Top 10 players in Pennsylvania committed to PSU (Tatsch #3, Thomas #9). PSU leads for three others (#'s 4, 5, 7). Missed out on 1 (Missouri), 2, (Alabama), 6 (Ohio State), 8 (Duke), 10 (WVU, Temple - did not have PSU offer).

So Pat Kraft hasn't "fixed" NIL?

This wasn't a big surprise, but still disappointing. PSU really wanted Porter, but all signs were pointing toward Ohio State for him.

Another one that hurt. His cousin is on PSU's roster. PSU put a lot of effort into landing him, but for the past month (or more), most signs were pointing toward Michigan.

He hadn't gotten a lot of publicity, but PSU really liked their chances after his OV earlier this month.

I don't know how ON3 calculates things but this is what we're up against:

Average NIL value of 2025 recruits:

OSU $238k
USC $215k
OR $163k
PSU $66k

We don't pay very well.

Kid from Bama flipping to Auburn after he confirmed he's "locked in" at PSU and just had an official visit.

Not a big surprise; been suspicions this would happen for some time, and then picks going in this week that he was likely to flip to Auburn.

It's rare that you see a kid flip to an inferior program. I may be wrong but it makes me doubt his confidence in himself.
Unfortunately, hearing that at the moment, even Rutgers has more $ than PSU. In the NIL era, $ trumps winning for most recruits.
