Since we're not talking about a proven player for the level in question, a better comp would be Caleb Williams' rookie contract which was $39.5 million over 4, so ~$10 million per year.
NFL total revenue was $20 billion in 2023.
In 2022, football revenue for NCAA programs was roughly $9.5 billion. If you stop there, then $2.5 million/year is arguably cheap, but when you add in that there's 134 FBS programs with starting QBs vs 32 NFL teams and factor in roster sizes, the argument gets muddy.

I think eventually there will be another division for football which will consist of 30-60 teams. I just pray it's not closer to 30.

With college football’s annual revenue being around 10% of the NFL’s, one could argue that the kid should be making more
