but the Highway Patrol shut the gates and would not let anyone out.. She said people were rasing hell but were told game traffic was piority and they didnt open the gates until around 7:30 or 8:00. Has anyone else heard about this and can they legally hold people against their will?

I have not heard that. But it sounds like they did not hold people. They stopped traffic if true. Is she sure there was not another gate they had open to leave from?

"The uninformed always blame someone else." This story is totally B/S.

Also, just never go to the fair on a gameday. You're asking for a parking lot!

traffic was a nightmare at times. Iā€™m glad the things over for the year. I avoided that general area like the plague during certain hours.

Maybe it was the gates of the parking lot? Could have made them enter only for a few hours? I donā€™t think there is any way they held people in the fair itself because some of those people would have been heading to the game. Plus too much of a liability for the fair.

Highway Patrol donā€™t man the fairground gates, do they?

Iā€™m guessing the fairgrounds personnel closed the two main gates used for game traffic (only two were open for entry per USC email with several ā€œexit onlyā€). And this lady didnā€™t think to look for the exit gates.

This story sounds like a misunderstanding, imo.

I told her the same - there had to be another gate to get out of but she says not
