This has bugged for me eons. Can we please stop referring to people as "former presidential candidate" when they utterly fail to be competitive in their party's primary? For both sides. there are folks who never polled above 1% in the primary, but they get to be called "former presidential candidate" for the rest of their career. It's a clear line of demarcation for me: you aren't a presidential candidate until you're on the ballot in the general election. I guess we could compromise and call folks who fail to win their primary a "presidential hopeful".

For real. It's literally the only reason some people do it. They can make more money "consulting" if they say they're a former candidate. When in reality, they weren't a candidate for crap.

The first time I was allowed to vote for president I wrote my own name down and voted for myself. Because at 18 I wasn't very mature. But I guess that makes me a failed former presidential candidate that actually received a vote even though I wasn't constitutionally qualified. 🙂

You have gotten more general election votes for president than Nikki Haley.
