It’s because it went completely off the rails. The last page is about spanking children.

May have been the comment on the lack of rigorous sexual activity.

You know our moderators aren't getting enough.

God bless 'em.

When Horsshik and MSUgirlfriend get involved, you may as well immediately shut it down.
It wasn't the unhinged vaccination claims.
It wasn't the crazy views that how much you eat or what you eat has very little to do with obesity.
It wasnt the forced into the conversation claim that spanking is obviously good.

Nope, it was me and another poster who got the thread locked.
Brilliant assessment.**

I did learn that women in the 'Sip couldn't vote until 1984.

You may think that PERMITTING women to vote is the same as GUARANTEEING their right to vote, but I think you'd disagree if a right that others "allowed" you to do capriciously change their mind. One example- a contentious divorce with spurious mental capacity issues raised by the husband as legal strategy. This happened somewhat commonly.

That's the point. Sure, women may have been able to under good ol' paternalistic guidance, but that could be taken away because it wasn't a right as it was for men. If you don't understand that, it's because you've never had a fundamental right withheld from you in your lifetime. And, guessing that you're a white guy, that's not surprising. I am too. I haven't either, but I know that it would make me feel much less secure in my station as an American if I had.

If that one's not good enough, women gained the right to make medical decisions without husband consent in 1998. So, now you've learned two things today about the last 40 years for the ladies.

Anyway, legal nuance is easily ignored on message boards. I get it.
