By that logic, I'm sure you were also concerned that slavery would be reinstituted in MS, as the state didn't ratify the 13th amendment until 1995?You may think that PERMITTING women to vote is the same as GUARANTEEING their right to vote, but I think you'd disagree if a right that others "allowed" you to do capriciously change their mind. One example- a contentious divorce with spurious mental capacity issues raised by the husband as legal strategy. This happened somewhat commonly.
That's the point. Sure, women may have been able to under good ol' paternalistic guidance, but that could be taken away because it wasn't a right as it was for men. If you don't understand that, it's because you've never had a fundamental right withheld from you in your lifetime. And, guessing that you're a white guy, that's not surprising. I am too. I haven't either, but I know that it would make me feel much less secure in my station as an American if I had.
If that one's not good enough, women gained the right to make medical decisions without husband consent in 1998. So, now you've learned two things today about the last 40 years for the ladies.
Anyway, legal nuance is easily ignored on message boards. I get it.
Well playedMy dad would whip my *** if I didn't finish my plate.
Bringing both topics together and that is somewhat true.
And here you are again doing what you are accused of^^^^still thinks the military parade was about the army...

Or the asinine claim that food deserts are why people are fat!It wasn't the unhinged vaccination claims.
It wasn't the crazy views that how much you eat or what you eat has very little to do with obesity.
It wasnt the forced into the conversation claim that spanking is obviously good.
Nope, it was me and another poster who got the thread locked.
Brilliant assessment.**
You certainly could call it that.Embrace it. You have a fan club.
What I saw was that being cited as a challenge to providing accessible and affordable fresh food to groups who want it and/or could benefit from it.Or the asinine claim that food deserts are why people are fat!

Good for you IBMD.On a sidenote:
Three years ago, after spending the majority of two years in the hospital, I weighed 408 pounds.
After eliminating soft drinks, junk food, and regulating portion sizes, I have lost weight and now weigh 315 pounds. Because I have mobility problems, I was unfortunately unable to begin exercise programs.
I dropped from a 5X to a 3X in shirt sizes.
Shooting for 280.
I only bring this up because they wanted to do surgery on my stomach initially, but I was able to lose weight slowly by myself.
Thanks. The last 40 or so were easier. The initial pounds were tough. The doc is after me to drink protein shakes. I attribute the loss to a considerable change in my retired lifestyle, a significant drop in alcohol consumption that is not for everyone.Good for you IBMD.
I’m perfectly ok with this data. Toss in the crime statistics!2 threads about fat people get blocked??? No way. Here's an interesting map. Asian Americans are the healthiest and live the longest (low divorce rates, low crime rates, out-of-wedlock birth rates, low rates of alcoholism and drug use and high educational achievement). Whites in blue states are the healthiest and are much healthier than those in red states. Disaggregating by race: Blacks are slightly healthier in blue states. Hispanics are around the same in blue and red states. Hispanic Americans on average outlive white Americans by about 1.2 years. Apologies for providing charts and data on this board.
I’m 5’9 and stay around 203Thanks. The last 40 or so were easier. The initial pounds were tough. The doc is after me to drink protein shakes. I attribute the loss to a considerable change in my retired lifestyle, a significant drop in alcohol consumption that is not for everyone.
Nobody on here wants you to go to extreme measures to lose weight!I’m 5’9 and stay around 203
my bmi is higher but I’m in pretty good shaoe
walk 9700 steps a day and usually run 1.5 3 times a week.
if I quit weekend drinking I could get to 185 easily
I get it. Just reiterating @IBleedMaroonDawg ‘s pointNobody on here wants you to go to extreme measures to lose weight!
You mean throwing money at the problem doesn’t work?!Another one
I think we are going to look back and regret pushing those drugs for obesity. My gastro doctor highly encourages people to not go that route unless it’s a last option. It’s causing alot of gastrointestinal issues and kidney failure.Trump could become really popular if he guaranteed everyone with healthcare low prices for GLP-1 drugs. Those are potentially miracle drugs for our obese and addicted population.
FIFYThanks. The last 40 or so were easier. The initial pounds were tough. The doc is after me to drink protein shakes. I attribute the loss to a considerable change in my retired lifestyle, a significant drop in alcohol consumption that is not for real Mississippi State fans.
I don't suggest throwing money at a problem. But spending money on problems often work. You mean throwing money at the problem doesn’t work?!
Trade-offs. They likely aren't for everyone I know another gastro who thinks that way. They might be wrong. There are some clinics in each state compounding mounjaro and others for anyone who wants it. They are raking in some cash. A couple of studies show benefits: A major clinical trial studying the effects of once weekly semaglutide on kidney health for people living with type 2 diabetes found once weekly semaglutide helped slow the CKD disease process and lowered the risk of developing kidney failure. People taking semaglutide group also had a lower risk of dying from kidney disease or cardiovascular disease. This is the first major study looking directly at the effect of GLP-1 RAs on CKD. Similar trials with other GLP-1 RAs are ongoing, including in people with CKD and obesity without type 2 diabetes. https://www.kidney.org/kidney-topics/glp-1-receptor-agonists-glp-1-rasI think we are going to look back and regret pushing those drugs for obesity. You’re taller than Josh Hubbard and weigh the same as Davon Booth.I’m 5’9 and stay around 203

I'm shocked, shocked I say, that drugs are not actually the answer to maintaining a healthy weight.
