The responses are going to split between two groups. Those with a pre menopausal wife and those with a post menopausal wife. There is a HUGE difference! What you bums keep the thermostat on during this heat? I say 72, ms Skipper says 70.

That used to be me until I got a $500+ electric bill a couple months in a row.68 or lower..all the time
I am disappointed in everyone else who has responded in this text besides this one man of obvious culture and refinementNice.
Yep, we keep ours at 75 during the day and then down to 70 at night. I know that seems warm, but when I get up in the morning with the air running @ 70, it’s freezing. Likewise, even I tried to turn the thermostat down to 72 during the day, my house would never get that cool when it’s this hot outside. It’d never stop runningDon’t think you can really compare temp between houses. Every house is different. 72 in one house doesn’t necessarily feel anything like 72 in another house. That said summer is 76 with ceiling fan during day & 69 at night. But my house doesn’t get much direct sunlight so 76 is a little cooler than others I’ve been in.

Similar to my house - my wife is always burning up & I am always cold, she wants it 68 & I prefer 72. We COMPROMISED at 68.I like 74 and my wife wants 68 so we compromised on 70 at night
I work outside a lot. I don't work in an office building. If you spend 8 or 10 hours a day in 96 degree weather 83 is niceAre you a lizard?
