Once more time: the NCAA has nothing to do with selections to the CFP. It could rule Michigan ineligible for post-season play, but the committee could also disqualify them from the playoffs for the same reason.
I’m not sure if you agree with this but the CFP said it would continue to include MI until the NCAA determined its findings. If the NCAA had acted quickly and punished MI then the CFP would follow suit. So, given that there was no way the NCAA can do anything quickly, MI was given a pass ultimately for this year.

I had been idly wondering if Michigan’s scandal played any role in getting Alabama in the CFP. If FSU had been given #4 then Michigan to win would have been the smart bet. I think Alabama beats Michigan, just too strong. You saw the Michigan reaction when Alabama was announced. Too bad for them.

The Alabama qb kept not seeing receivers yesterday, wow, really noticeable.

I often skip the CFP games but I’m not missing Michigan-Alabama.

1. Michigan
2. Washington
3. Texas
4. Alabama

FSU gets awarded the “didn’t pass the eye test” trophy. Georgia wins the wrong loss at the wrong time trophy.
This era of the mini playoff invitational has gotten pretty predictable and needs to go. The early season rankings are a dinosaur of a bygone era and should be stopped until the last couple of weeks of the season. The conference championship games never became the gold standard for putting the winning team into the best bowl game.

I hope the 12 team playoff will improve some of this, but I fear bracketology type BS stats to justify seeding, the need to create Cinderella by giving some 10-1 Liberty team a spot, and the need to make the regular season mean something by giving the top few schools a cake walk through weaker teams in the first round or two means PSU will again find itself in the position of being on the outside looking in more often than not.

Gotcha. That's what I would expect from the lily-livers at the CFP, though they don't need the NCAA to act.

Just gave my TT to son2 and sold his GTI last Friday. I’m now a cx5 guy (down to one car, which sucks)
It looks like it sprung a leak.

FWIW, Dave Portnoy bet $1M on Michigan.
