I think a 3 SEC team playoff is a lot likelier. If Bama wins out and is a 1 loss SEC champion, they're in. Then you have Tennessee beat Georgia and lose the rematch in the SEC championship.

12-1 Alabama (SEC champion)
12-1 Tennessee (SEC runner-up)
11-1 Georgia

It would be really hard to keep Georgia or Tennessee out in this scenario, especially if the Big Ten champion or clemson loses a game.

Who on Clemson's high school slate will defeat them? There really needs to be more accountability and teams should be penalized for super-soft schedules. All you hear is, "well they have to play their conference teams". Fine, but there are OOC games that can be scheduled for those in weak conferences that want to make the playoffs. Clemson's schedule this year is just beyond laughable, I believe Furman took the place of UGA. The other undefeated teams listed in the article play some difficult teams ahead and play each other in many cases.

They will have 3 top 15 wins if they win Saturday. I’m all for bashing Clemson but they have played more than most. Y’all have got to let conference and name of the team go. Teams cycle in and out. Just because wake is usually a suck house doesn’t mean they suck this year.

I just don't get it. Yeah they haven't lost, but who have they played?

Wake and NC State are pretty good this year.

I don't really think Clemson stacks up against the likes of UGA, but they're winning their games. After this Saturday they'll have played 3 teams currently ranked in the top 25. UGA has played 1.

Georgia's ranked opponents are on the back end of the schedule.

If Clemson wins Saturday they will have 3 top 15 wins. That’s how the committee looks at it. I don’t get this it only matters where the team is ranked at the end of the season. That’s not how the committee looks at it.

Never happen because tough schedules dont matter anymore. What does matter is spreading the love to as many conferences as possible if possible.

Exactly, and if UGA makes the playoffs it will be by beating 2 top 10 teams. Clemson won't be stepping on the field with anybody even close to a Top 10 team. The ACC teams are year-in, year-out pretty even and balanced with Clemson a notch above. Wake and NC ST will likely all have 3 losses by year end and look at their OOC schedules, just ridiculous. I'm not saying Wake and State are awful teams, they would beat us, but they are nowhere the teams UGA will have to play to get to the playoffs.

Tennessee had to go into overtime to beat Pitt, while Pitt was playing with their back-up quarterback for most of the game. I'd say that is not bad for a weak ACC team. Clemson has Notre Dame as an OOC game this year plus our annual meeting. They are playing their third ranked team of the season this weekend. Clemson was the only team of 9-ranked teams to win on the road last weekend. Their strength of schedule is stronger than ours to date, 33rd ranked to ours at 37th. So much for bashing their schedule. I'd like to ask; do we strengthen their schedule by playing them or do we make it weaker?

Totally dismissing Michigan and Ohio State. They both are playing excellent football right now -- likely the rest of the season too.

It seems like this is an annual conversation. And each year it shakes out. Sec champ, plus a couple other undefeated champs and there's one spot left to argue over.

I think hoping for 3 sec teams is kind of ridiculous given only 4 spots.

OSU hasn't played a good team yet. The only team they've played that has a winning record is Toledo. They'll play 2 ranked teams this year. Michigan did just manhandle PSU, who cannot win a game against a top 10 opponent. Besides that, their best opponent is Maryland.
