It isn't. If you are entitled to wins and deserve championships, you have to be prepared to pay for that.Insanity.
I agree. great for the players, but these have to be some pretty expensive leasesIt isn't. If you are entitled to wins and deserve championships, you have to be prepared to pay for that.
Helluva lot less than the cost of the vehicle.Good luck with the tax bill everybody.
What could the tax on a 6 month lease possibly be?Helluva lot less than the cost of the vehicle.
Between the lease and insurance on it I guess 1000 bucks a month for each one.I agree. great for the players, but these have to be some pretty expensive leases
For the remainder of this year, not much. Next year when the lease is in force for 12 months, more. How much more? Let's just hope that the NIL collective is advising the beneficiaries to keep some cash in reserve for April 15, 2025.What could the tax on a 6 month lease possibly be?
But can't another NIL just pay for the taxes? For the remainder of this year, not much. Next year when the lease is in force for 12 months, more. How much more? Let's just hope that the NIL collective is advising the beneficiaries to keep some cash in reserve for April 15, 2025.
It can, and that payment becomes taxable to the player. Do enough iterations and the donors begin to notice. But can't another NIL just pay for the taxes?
That's going to be 85 players with back issues because Rams ride like .
I'll say this, out of all of the 1/2 ton pickups Dodge Ram is the most like a truck. I know my friends '20 rides much better when towing a 21 ft boat. I'm not a brand snob when it comes to trucks, but it's my observation after riding in a lot of them that Rams ride like my 2022 F150 XL aluminum body work truck. My personal 2012 XLT steel body rides great.I have an ‘18 and couldn’t disagree more. Of the big 3, the ram rode the best when I tested them all.
Schools that offer a scholarship and a NIL amount that leaves the player more money in pocket. Doesn't take much. What is to stop a school from giving NIL to as may players they want and claim they are walk-ons? It's a great way to both expand the roster and corner the market on talent.

Probably not a big issue for 2023. Lease is for six months, and rolls over for another six. For the entire year of 2024, total lease payments could be $15k, more or less.6 month lease
Good on them!!!! Better young kids than the same old crows.
$800+ per month with $2000 down?I agree. great for the players, but these have to be some pretty expensive leases
I have a 2017 Aluminum body XLT F-150 and I couldn’t be happier with the ride. Silky smooth. I don’t know much about the new Rams other than their reputation from years past, which wasn’t good. I do wonder however, why I see so many newer Rams with rust on the rear fenders above the tires and the rear bumper.I'll say this, out of all of the 1/2 ton pickups Dodge Ram is the most like a truck. Are the players responsible for the registration, inspections, and insurance payments also? A little dose of the real world for them may not be the worst thing.$800+ per month with $2000 down?
Left over AMC Javelins and GremlinsWhat’s next a high school football team getting Yugos?
1. No, each player does not have the same marketing value, BUTNIL is honestly great - players should be able to market themselves and get paid for it and not be constrained by "amateur status" being in college. But this is just pay to play which is not the same thing. Does each player have the same marketing value? Is the company providing the vehicles getting a tangible return in advertising value from the players?
High level college athletes are probably making more than minor league baseball players. Makes you realize how misguided this all is.Seeing these stories just reinforces in my mind that players should be able to major in football. I know we joke about O$U and "I didn't come here to play school." But it makes sense more and more.
I'm not saying that they *must* major in football, but the option should be open to them. We all know a handful of guys on each team are only at college as a pathway to the NFL, whether real or imagined. Now that they're getting paid, why do we continue to try and convince ourselves otherwise? They shouldn't have to sit in a classroom pretending to care.
I equate it to forcing a minor league baseball player - just out of high school - to sit in a classroom during the day so he is eligible to pitch in the evening. Doesn't make sense.
If a University creates a major in football, then does that not mean any student can apply for that major?Seeing these stories just reinforces in my mind that players should be able to major in football. Sure. And they can be told it is full. Like the rest of us were told when we were at dear old state and the athletes needed a class and they had the privilege of picking classes before the general student body.If a University creates a major in football, then does that not mean any student can apply for that major?
