Anyone else suffering or catch this flu/cold?

I got sick as a dog a few weeks ago, I think it was watching the PSU/MSU game at the alumni bar in the entertainment district in Scottsdale. People were partying so hard. I'm still not quite normal yet.

Probably COVID finally.

F-cking B-Day today woke up with fever. The whole house is sick. Chest congestion. Nightmare.

Yup. All in my home but my daughter got COVID about a week ago. I also have a chest cold. No fever or anything, but some fatigue during the day at its peak. Mostly over it now.

One of the few advantages to being old: I now get the flu vaccine and rarely get out and mingle with humans. Of course the grandbrats will be visiting at the end of the week and we'll no doubt welcome the New Year with some strain that their schools have mutated to negate the jab.

I hope everyone has a speedy recovery. This is the reason I stay away from people. I don't like people. I like my people. But in general I don't like people and stay away from them as much as possible.

The one time I did and see what happened! Just trying to be a good son/brother/uncle but that's it for a LONG TIME.

I don't need anyone except my GF. And the Doordash people. And the guy at the record store. And that nice lady at the liquor store. But that's it. I guess the people at Publix and Trulieve. And my cat. But that's it!

I have 2 young kids, we have had it all and continue to catch everything
Knocking on wood, but, yeah ... I rarely used to get sick ... then I had kids and I'd get anything and everything those lil cretins would bring into the house, and now that they're teenagers (and, well, for a few years now), we haven't gotten much of anything. Strep was our "favorite" illness ... 2-3 times a year somehow, and it'd hit me hard ... worse than the flu.

Sorry. That sucks.

I had a flu/fever on Thanksgiving day. Lasted 2 days. A few days later I get a head cold. The cold has not gone away. About 4 days ago I lost all sense of smell. Still can't taste a thing. I've tested negative for Covid twice. I got the annual flu shot in October. Other than feeling a little less energetic, I feel fine. I just hope my sense of smell returns soon. My youngest son brought the flu home from school and infected me. he's made a full recovery. My oldest kid and wife have been spared from this so far. Weird shite.

Get well soon.

This is the worst string of sickness I've ever had. About a month ago I got Type A flu. Really sick for over a week. Terrible cough. Got rid of that and figured I'd be OK for the rest of the winter. I rarely get sick.

Last Thursday the sore throat and cough came back. I did an at-home Covid test and it was positive. I am now quarantining. I'm really happy that I have been vaccinated and have gotten 3 boosters. The symptoms are almost gone. Of course, my wife just tested positive. That means we will not have the 25 person Christmas celebration on Saturday.

Really lousy fall and winter so far.

I got the Covid last week. I think I got it at the Apple Store. On the tail end of it now. It rocked me pretty good. All my friends are sick with something, whether it's Covid or the flu or bad colds.

Had a bad cold, sore throat and cough for about two weeks a month ago. Felt like crap it was sleep (16 hours a day) drink fluids and pee, repeatedly day after day. NOT Covid.

Thought I fought it off but the cold returned with a vengeance Sunday. No sore throat or cough but have lost my voice. Still feel like crap.

I got sick 2 months ago. No fever, just nasal congestion. It largely passed in 1-2 weeks but I've been stuck with a bit of chest congestion ever since. It's frustrating.

I guess I could have had covid. Is this long covid?

Since I am particularly at risk with a suppressed immune system I get every shot - 5 Covid vaccinations including boosters plus evusheld in a clinical trial and the flu shot. So far I haven’t had a sniffle of anything (just cancer - for 20 years ha, I got my monthly 2 hour immunotherapy infusion today). I’m going out to a family gathering Christmas Eve where all the attendees have previously had Covid and to a Christmas dinner with friends where none of them have have it (we believe). The thing that bugs me is that at both events all the others are much less careful than me or my wife and I don’t want to be compromised by someone else more careless than me, but I feel a family obligation to show up and be a good soldier during holiday times. I’ll just try to keep a safe distance and avoid any snifflers. Wish me luck. Happy Holidays

Your symptoms sound like mine, when I had Covid. I was better in four days.

No, it doesn’t sound at all like long Covid. For one thing, long Covid seems to happen to those who got really sick, nothing like what you’re describing.

I've had something very similar since Thanksgiving.
I thought I got it from sitting in the rain at the RU game.

For those who are wondering if they might have Covid, just take the test. It’s quick and easy, and I think it’s free. If you do have Covid, they have medicines for it. Be aggressive with it. Beat it.

Fine Friday night and woke up at 2:30 am feeling like death. Fever hit 104. Sinuses and drainage so bad I used paper towels. Lost 9 pounds since Friday. It’s brutal and I did get the senior flu shot. Onto day 5.

I’m in NYC today. I’m so screwed. 😞
My cousin who lives in Manhattan got Covid a couple weeks ago. One of my colleagues who lives in Brooklyn got Covid last week. My wife had a mild case of the flu a few weeks ago. I got a mild case last Saturday (we live in Mountaintop).

Be careful and drink lots of fluids my friend. I went septic like that a few years ago and took 6 months to recover.

Hope you feel better.
And just celebrate an unbirthday to makeup for this one.
And if I'm not mistaken, a happy Hanukkah as well.

This is why I generally hate Winter. I'm feeling badly for all of our board friends who are suffering through this sh#t. Take care and stay positive. It will end.
