A friend of mines son. I have known the kid since he was born.
Hopefully it will be the best 7 years of their lives!!
My family has 17 PS graduates, starting with my grandfather, dad, his brothers, myself, brother, my daughter and son.
My son, my best friend I met in 1965 and I see regularly, and a number of other friends. And, I am a grad.

Haha, yes that is my fervent wish for them!
It was a great 5.5 years for me, but I did take two breaks in there for various reasons.
Got a bud who has you beat. He spent NINE years at PSU, and NEVER graduated. However Rolling Rock gave him an Emeritus degree!
Six years BS, three years MS, eleven years PhD. It took me a long time to figure things out.
I know about 45 PSU grads.....there are two companies that hire many PSU grads here in Augusta.....the National Golf Club where the Masters is held and Savannah River Site, who do interview on campus. Today is our annual Ice Cream and Blood Drive social....we import Ice Cream from Berkey Creamery. Our chapter is small....Atlanta has a huge chapter.
My son has just completed a second Masters from Penn State. I also have a Masters from Penn State.
Did you forget to carry the one? Is that why it took so long?
What kind of friends or relatives are you to allow these people to make the mistakes we made?

Nicely played. No, it was just a case of having to play catch up the entire time. Every time I went to visit my advisor, I’d say to myself “Now, Jim, don’t be afraid of sounding like an idiot.” I’d then knock on his door.

Same here. The fam was our next door neighbors in Bucks County for 25+ years, son graduated yesterday with a 4.0 GPA (oh come on!) in IST and music performance or some such minor. Blue Band all 4 years.
Went to the grad party at Mt. Nittany Winery last night. Nice venue. Our friend's fam included a bunch of PSU grads who were in attendance at the party. Most of them local to State College, including his 95 year old Dad, PSU '51, who drank at least one more beer than I did.
Hey - leave Sybil alone. Simply calling out "here" during attendance was tough enough for her.
The argument over the perfect attendance certificate was a doozy.
Unless PSU returns The Rathskeller there will be no more....FIFY!
My neighbor's family, graduated in the 40's with a BS in liberal arts.
They all pursued careers in the theater.
Advanced Level Mathematics....soooo challenging

Twins with 2 STEM degrees each at PSU. One will be adding an Engineering PhD next year at PSU. Getting up into some LJ computational numbers soon. The other one going on for a MD and PhD. Definitely need Jim to run the dad scholarship numbers involved.
