Cupp did tweak a knee.. but that isnt what kept him out of the lineup for 40 games... Not my place to say, but it was an off the field issue.
So we already have Moultrie knee. What do we call this one? Cupp check?

Well he did miss the last 2/3rd of the season due to an off the field issue. Thats as far as i'm going to take it. These are still kids.. and although im 99.99% sure about the details... i'm not going to spout that sort of thing on a message board.
its like someone mentioned a gun in the incident above.. i think thats crossing a line to put that out there... however saying he was removed from the team due to an off the field incident is fine IMO. Blasting a kid for performace on the field IMO is fine, but to get into personal off the field issues.. isnt.
Take it how you want--- lots of people know the Cupp deal.. i'm sure if you search hard enough you'll find out what happened there... just like if you want to know what happened with the above, you'll be able to find it.
Even though its a public message board... again these are kids with futures.. and deserve some grace at times, if you guys wanna slam someone on a message board for that.. i'm not going to lose sleep over it.

Polk 1.0 or 2.0 never dealt with a SEC that had every team legitimately in the top 50 teams in the country .. and 10 of the top 25 teams in the country..Polk had the luxury of coaching of coaching in an era when over half of the SEC viewed baseball as little more than an unfunded club sport .... not the current environment where 11 of 16 have won a National Championship and three of the remaining 5 have been in the Finals
If you want to say something then say it. If you don't then don't. What is the point of telling everyone you know something if you aren't willing to post it?
Why are you defending Lemonis? It is unacceptable to even say anything positive about him. Plays favorites, no fundamentals, no execution, no clutch. Just stop man.
1. Every single member of the MSU baseball team is a legal adult.
2. If a player had an off the field incident that involved pulling a gun on a teammate, it's not crossing the line to post that on the message board. You lose the benefit of the doubt when you make decisions that stupid.

There are a lot of details from the event or a lot of off the field events that people dont have the full details on.. therefore.. i dont think its right to post that sort of information. I think an "off the field incident" does enough... but if you dont.. thats fine.. again not going to hang you for it, its just something i';m not going to do.
its really not. If you follow the program closely.. you know what happened with the incident on this threaed or the cupp situation... OR you know someone you can ask to find out.
They are all getting paid to be here. We are the ones paying them. There are no privacy lines any more.

actaully i didnt... my original post was to criitize lemonis for handling different players differently. This incident in this thread involved more than 1 person... so far only 1 has been removed from the team....
I referenced the cupp situation from last years basically got him suspended for 2/3rd of the year but not removed from the team.... without a word being said about it

Different incidents deserve different punishments. Pulling a gun on someone(as reported on here) deserves a swift removal. You didn't have to bring Cupp up at all. Unless he pulled a gun on someone it sounds like whatever he did a suspension was enough. Plenty of people on here are connected to the team and no one is confirming he did something to get suspended for 2/3rds of the year.
im not here for attention... could care less... again the info is out there, its not some secret club. But i do draw the line at throwing kids completely under the bus. But again if others want too thats fine
There are two sides to every story. If a gun was for sure pulled in a manner that is a threat I totally agree. Many people think that Cupp did deserved the same swift kick off the team but it didnt happen.. thats why I brought it up, but he was just suspended internally and quietly instead... when asked it was Cupp nursed a knee injury that required zero surgery for the ladder 40 games of the season.
hence the reason of the post... double standard or favortism which Lemonis is notroious for.
Again the cupp info isnt hard to find. Take a walk around the Dude.. have a talk with anyone around the program or that attends the games.. is around the players, etc-- and its known information.
yet you bringing it up is the first time many people are hearing about it. when did you know? and why hasn't anyone else agreed with you?

Cupp... a top recruit.. missed the entire second half of the season... and nothign was said. he totally disappeared. Wasnt even in the dugout or in uniform at times... ANYONE that is really around the program noticed this...lemonis blameed it on a. knee injury. Why did we never get an update? Is the knee 100% now? WHy was cupp never asked about it?

tons of people on this board and the paid board are in the know. No one has said anything about Cupp until now and you're still being vague AF about it. Cupp did something so horrible(usually criminal) that he should have been kicked off the team for yet he played sparingly after the injury and then was left off the postseason roster in favor of a pitcher.
There used to be a rule around here about referring to these guys as "kids".

if you think cupp missed the back half of the sec season due to a knee injury that we never got diagnosed or even hardly an answer on the recovery, return, health, how it happened, etc-- then enjoy your coffee
debatable depending the facts... one should for sure be... there could easily be another, but again depends exactly what happened and what didnt.
Which thread? Lemonis and almost every coach never goes into specifics about players injuries and they never will. Sorry you didn't get his complete medical history and have decided to blame it on some big conspiracy. Not defending Lemonis in the least bit but he has done this with multiple players.
Editing to add that Cupp also had to have surgery on said knee injury in June, so I guess it was bad enough to keep him out of the lineup minus a few games

Anytime someone is basically out for the year... lemonis spoke on it. Anytime a starter is going to miss multiple weeks with an injury... lemonis has and will speak on it.
Cupp started virtually EVERY game up until LSU. He played well in that game.. yet was benched afterward, he played again one game the following weekend, shows he was healthy... again played well... nothing was done durign the games because he finished both games. He then didnt play the rest of the season more or less. During that time he wasnt in uniform or on the bench.. and despite being healthy enjoy to play... he didnt make the post-season roster.... Keep in mind Cupp was one of our prized recruits and someone that turned down the MLB draft to come here.... and we badly needed INF help down the stretch.
But again enjoy your coffee. Ask a few "in the know" people on the pay board. Maybe you'll get your answers...

The comment was in response to him being the worst coach in school history. Lemonis is not great, but we've had coaches that could 17 up a wet dream. Not sure we've had that in baseball. Cann and Henderson and Lemonis proved they could inherit good talent and not 17 it up. Lemonis kept it going for three years before 17ing it up. I think he's certainly better than Cann and there's not enough data on Henderson to make a fair comparison, but he hasn't done anything anywhere else.
