That would get us to 14-16. In past years 13 wins has gotten teams in, but our quad 1 win record currently sux at 3-12 and we have the luxury of USC, UF, and Mizzou. We'll get left at home with 13.

Florida
Auburn
OM
Kentucky
Mizzou

Can we find 9 wins in there?

Oh.. and WT17 are we doing bringing Southern up for a late season mid week game??

In other words, we need to pull out all the stops to get on a hot streak so that we don’t miss the entire postseason for the 3rd time in 4 years.

Nice series win in Tuscaloosa, but that my friends is why this needs to be Lemonis’s swan song

13 will probablyly be enough without a Pac 12. But we need to win the series against UF, UK and Mizzou and try to find.a sweep in one of them. Then it comes down to whether we can go 3-3 against Auburn and Ole Miss.

Softball has the opposite problem. They go to Oklahoma next week. Got to find one win there somehow. Then you have two winnable series at the end that can get us a host spot.

We cannot lose a game to Mizzou. They are likely the worst team in the history of the SEC.

13-17 plus a win in Hoover would probably be enough as long as we take care of business in midweeks.

Florida and Mizzery are possibly 6 wins. We own the rights to old miss and Auburn, and are no stranger to beating Kaintuck.

I mean, 9 wins seems a damn safe bet to me. We blew 4-5 games against significantly better competition than this earlier in the year. These teams pale in comparison to any of those teams. Of course, Auburn did sweep the looties this weekend which was a complete surprise. Still, I like our logo over theirs in baseball any day of the week.

Our resume lacks a ton of Q1 wins but we have zero bad losses currently. And the series we just won is a really good one. Winning 2 of 3 on the road against the number 11 RPI team is strong.

Our RPI is up into the 30’s now so we are very much in the conversation.

This weekend will still be good at end of year, but I don’t think it’ll be as good as it looks right now. I think they finish 15-15 at best.

I don’t think Bama is an elite team but they are probably a borderline regional host.

At Auburn is by far our toughest remaining series. They just swept LSU. But they are also 5 in the RPI, so if you salvage one game on the road you take it I think.

OM is good but not great.

Florida isn’t great but probably better than their record shows (RPI 31 even at 4-11 in the SEC). What concerns me there is they have kinda become notorious for starting slow and then figuring it out. I hope their sweep of Mizzou isn’t the start of them figuring it out.

Florida, along with Kentucky, are kinda fellow bubble teams trying to claw back in it like us. Those two series at home are very important.

This Mizzou team is trending to be one of the worst in SEC history. They are 0-15. You can’t afford to lose that series at end of the year.

Need to win at least one against Auburn, Sweep Missouri and just win the other series. We will go to a regional. Never know with baseball but could win the Auburn series. Now let this sneak into your brains. Ole Miss got to number six without winning a SEC series against a ranked SEC team and they just lost a series to another ranked SEC team. They have beaten many of the teams we have left on our schedule.

We keep saying Florida has to be better than their record. But they keep losing. Maybe they really are just not good. I think we can take 5 of 6 from them & Missouri at home. Then just need 4 of 9 from the other 3 series.

If we can’t compete with Auburn in baseball then you go hire Auburns 17-ing baseball coach!

If we don’t win a road regional and advance to the Supers then he needs to be fired the day after the 2nd loss!
Road regionals are not the MS State baseball standard!
I agree. But if he makes a regional at all, no way Selmon fires him. 14 or 15 wins with the easiest SEC schedule we're likely to ever see again isn't good enough.

Before ever'body gets all warm and fuzzy about a 2-1 series win at Alabama, please note that State has win min every series vs. Alabama since 2016! We R to them in baseball what they are to us in football and basketball!

The most direct path to 14 SEC wins is 7 wins in the three home series and get 1 at each of the road series.

I don't understand the disrespect I'm seeing towards OM and Auburn. They're both very good. Ole Miss came very close to taking the UT series this weekend and Auburn 17'n swept LSU. Didn't have that in my prediction book.

This is not a reason to not be happy about winning the series. Much better Bama team than typical.

Had Ole Miss had a couple legit closers, they could have swept UT.

Mark it down, we'll lose a series we are favored in. It's the Lemonis way. I don't think we make a regional this year. How are they going to magically right the ship after 3-4 years of mistake after mistake? They are not.

With all the changes in college sports especially regarding funding and rev share. If this team sneaks into a regional, Lemonis will be back even if they go 0-2 in the regional. I'm not even sure he'd be forced to make any staff changes if they get into a regional. I don't think Selmon or Keenum have the balls to pull the trigger in that scenario unless one the big boy donors decides to cut a check to make it happen.

Maybe Lemonis turns around this season to slip into a regional, but I don't think he's the guy to turn the program around overall. I just don't see it. Keeping him another year just delays the inevitable and keeps the program stuck in this 17ed up purgatory.

Winning is always fun but, nothing can ever change the fact that we started conference play a horrendous 1-8. Nothing can change the fact we finished last and next to last in the SEC the two seasons after a NC. Nothing can change the fact we have not hosted since 2021.

Four seasons after a NC, the expectation should be no host = goodbye to Chris Lemonis barring some kind of freakish post-season run. Enough is enough.
