It's another charity for profit deal. Billionaires working the system.

{Keep in mind that if one "T" wasn't croseed in the article there would be an immediate libel suit.}

Also, Gates is fully aware that eating fake meat causes inflammation and chronic disease. The second ingredient is seed oil. That's inflammatory even prior to heat. When you cook it, oxidation goes through the roof. Then there's isolates, fillers, modified soy and all of the other crap you'll see in highly inflammatory, packaged foods.
I am no fan of fake meat, but what we have now is not what our grandfathers farmed. Corn-fed industrial cattle, chickens without eyes, super hormones etc. is a bad scene.

I am pretty sure they will create reasonable fake meats which will be a good alternative for some people. In general I hope we all will fight less and accept new options (not mandates) without paranoia. This goes for rural 'lectrification, beef, vaccines, and electric cars and whatever else comes next.

We could get a head start on that by not artificially pushing options. "Mandating" by artificial fees and govt intervention. I mean, in the source article, the guy mentions doing both.

And if we reject some new options, be nice about it.

My wife can attest to the chicken you find in stores. She was raised on a chicken farm, and she'll tell you what you see now is alarming. Chicken breasts are now gargantuan to the point as she will tell you, it would be physically impossible for that animal to walk. Now she will only buy chicken from a local farm.
Believe me the taste is SOOO much better.

Except for those who are vegan, I'm not sure I see the draw to the Beyond Burger. Beyond meat is very highly processed, more so than real meat, and is decidedly unhealthy.

I'm neither vegan nor vegetarian. I find that the Beyond Burgers have a less deleterious impact on my digestive tract.

An I'm concluding that neither real beef burgers nor Beyond Burgers are particularly healthy. Pick your poison, I guess.

I'm not being argumentative, but do you have a source that can confirm the decidedly unhealthy claim.

It's so interesting - vegan food that is. Like you said, I've found that so many vegan foods are not good for you at all. Super high in saturated fats and sodium. You can eat an entire vegan diet and still be overweight with heart disease like anyone on a normal American diet.

And crazy $$$. Our last baby had a dairy intolerance for her first 6 months so my wife had to take dairy out of her diet. The left us looking at a lot of the vegetarian options in the store. First, we found like you stated, vegetarian stuff is not healthier. It's also processed at least as much, if not more than non-vegetarian food. But I was shocked at the prices. Nutzo. And the vast majority of it is dog barf in terms of taste.

Most definitions of a vegetarian diet include dairy. Vegan diets are strictly plant-based, i.e., no meat (cattle, poultry, etc.), no fish/crustaceans, and no dairy.

Best bet IMO is to cook from scratch and probably avoid GMO products.

Bill Gates is getting more aggressive with his synthetic beef push. But, don’t worry, he says the plan is to make it taste even better than it currently does.

“History is truly at a turning point,” Klaus Schwab said at the 2022 World Government Summit. “We do not yet know the full extent and the systemic structural changes which will happen, however, we do know the global energy systems, food systems, and supply chains will be deeply affected,”

Do you think that the gub'ment never pushed gasoline on the people? Do they not subsidize the meat industry?

Gub'ments have artificially boosted certain options, products and companies since the beginning of society.

Not disagreeing at all with your overall point.

Gasoline was pushed by Standard Oil. The cash cow of petroleum or “Seneca Oil” was lamp oil. Electricity changed that. So the combustible engine was pushed.

The gub’ ment only pushes what the money influences them to push. Old as time.

Agreed. And that push should be met with skepticism (paranoia was word used in the post I replied to).
