Beware: Harbor is coming...and he's bringing substantial swag! How's it strike you?

Ordinarily, I'd be concerned that a player was being a little overconfident and cocky, but he appears to have the athleticism to back it up. And, we haven't had much swag in recent years. Glad that Beamer is bringing in those types of players again (e.g. Swearinger). We need a few cocky guys who can back it up.

What say you? How do you feel about his confidence? Like it? Prefer players to keep it low key? Wait until he proves he can play at the next level? I've been dying for some swagger since Swearinger left.

Players like this remind of when Spurrier was here and he said he wanted to recruit players that were winners in high school. You bring players in who are already accustomed to winning and know how to win and that attitude carries over onto the field. Bring in players who expect to win because that's all they've ever done.

To answer your question, yes, I want the winning attitude and confidence ... I would prefer someone not state your "new king is here" ... Connor Shaw/Marcus Lattimore did not act accordingly and they simply backed it up with humility and results on the field ... my humble thoughts ... to any other responders, do not be confused, I am thrilled we have him and thrilled with the signings, thus far, for the 2024 class ... on a slightly different topic, I am nervous about our RB's for next year ... sort of very lean right now ...

I'm gonna go with the Missouri philosophy here.

To me it definitely sets a high goal for a player to have swag and make these kind of statements but I think it also motivates them to live up to expectations and I have no doubt Harbor will be an overachiever. I am excited about the leadership both he and Pup Howard are bringing as freshmen!

Yep. Some players have a quiet confidence (Lattimore) while others are...umm...not so quiet (Swearinger). I think it takes a mix of both, and we seem to be getting that now.

JUST BACK IT UP ON THE FIELD. I do like the prospect of using him split out wide and going deep frequently- if we have the O-Line protect. This will drop the Safeties and open up short stuff underneath. Similar to the way Curry changes passing lanes playing out so front so far from the basket. Creates lots of options.

I wouldn't have made the "King" statement, but if he's the type to make a bold statement in order to motivate himself, I say go for it. I think most who talk that way probably can't/don't back it up, but there are certainly exceptions. Deion Sanders comes to mind as one of those exceptions.

"Your new king is here."

<smfh> -- 9 out of 10 times kids with egos this big are busts. Gimme the 3 star chomping at the bit to take just one good shot at a mouth running SOB like this......

Having said that, I'm glad he picked us but c'mon man..... have some humility and class. I don't even know what position he plays. Just.... ugggg.

Just watched some highlights of the kid.....

Looks like he might be able to come off the bench and play the slot WR position fairly decent. <smirk>

Find some joy! Embrace the fact that Beamer is changing the culture and bringing in a higher caliber of player who expects to excel and win.

No problem with his comments, he just another dog!! I remember when Juice made a comment for bulletin board material and some on here got their panties in a wad. Always remember when you start getting some real dogs, they will be cocky, confident, have swag and they will hunt!!!šŸ˜Ž
