no he got promoted to Advisor!! So I guess he counts on the over underreports are that Pete Carrol being pushed out. I wonder if he has an age discrimination suit available to him.
He could sue if he wanted to but NFL coaches get fired left and right every year, it’s as cutthroat a business as you’d find anywhere. I expect all NFL coaches contracts have very specific termination stipulations and going by precedent he would have $$$ coming to him if he got fired. All they have to is to say they fired him because of the play call that gift-wrapped a Lombardi Trophy to New England.reports are that Pete Carrol being pushed out. in the old days, we used to call that a "Reagan Promotion".no he got promoted to Advisor!! So I guess he counts on the over under
of course, legally, you are correct. But lawyers often fail to understand the real issue here: PR. I see that they are keeping him on as an "advisor". That means to me that they are going to pay him enough money so that he can't ID "damages". Smart. He could sue if he wanted to but NFL coaches get fired left and right every year, it’s as cutthroat a business as you’d find anywhere. NFL team organizations are used to firing people, waiving people, whatever, and they got the job down pat by now. They know what to say and how to say it, they don’t open themselves to lawsuits. It’s Administration 101. I once spoke for four hours to a fellow department faculty and never once mentioned the word “retirement.” He retired. This was twenty years ago, it’s Administration 101. First rule: Don’t say or write anything that could get you sued.
Dumshlt walked and left $3mm on the table. He'll get hired, but his Giants defense was overrated (at least by the announcers who thought the "Wink" reference was cute, like anyone under the age of 50 got it). It’s interesting that Wink neither resigned nor was fired. It sets up an odd stand off.
