Yep- Steven Ross is a Michigan grad and a big donor. Although beyond that, I don't know how much of a "tie" he has with Harbaugh.

He was instrumental in developing the last piece of NYC real estate that was not a pre-planned park - Hudson Yards.

Dunno. I'm just saying what Bruce Feldman said.

Well, you may have to stop watching college sports as well, but the trend is going that way as well
I lost interest in CF 10 yrs ago.
I watch very little college football today. If I’m not at a PSU game I’ll watch on tv.

Over the holidays, I watched some of the Pitt-MSU & UM flustercluck.

Where is @Art when you need an opinion on the knowledge of a sports reporter?

Ties may be limited to Ross's status as an alum/big donor but he's apparently a big fan. So much so that others are saying he's not going to be the guy to hire Harbaugh away from Michigan. We shall see.

Raiders is doubtful how? You’re saying Davis is going to hire the interim permanently?

The narrative I’d heard is that even with a playoff appearance, the interim guy is still a solid underdog to get the job.

That franchise still has a lot of work to do to truly contend.

”Despite speculation that Ross was interested in hiring Jim Harbaugh as coach, the Dolphins are not targeting the Michigan coach, he said in a news conference to discuss Flores' firing.

"I'm not going to be the one who takes Jim Harbaugh away from the University of Michigan," Ross, who is an alumnus of the university, said.”

Despite my active profile on this board, including regular strong contributions to football threads, I just want to say that none of the organizations discussed here have contacted me yet about an open head coaching position. However, my agent and I are staying close to the phone and expect calls to start coming in this afternoon.

I’m just guessing here, but perhaps your proclivity to “be right back” during head coaching interviews has hindered your progress.

No, because he has been taking Zoom interviews and brings his laptop everywhere with him.

They could reach out to you regarding an open head coaching position. They just chose not to.

Franklin to the GM's office in the Meadowlands.
But there’s little doubt that Gettleman failed as GM. Using the second overall pick in the draft on a running back, Saquon Barkley, was a bad move, and Gettleman’s chosen franchise quarterback, Daniel Jones, has not delivered. The Giants do have two first-round picks this year, their own and the Bears, which is one nice gift Gettleman is leaving his successor. But the next GM has a mess to clean up. Yea

Matt isn't being fired in Carolina. Their issue is QB and the owner knows it. They have no deep passing game and it's killing them. Darnold was a try, a bad try. Never like his game. He had one great game, and it was against, Penn State. Superman can't throw deep, nor could Teddy last year. They need a QB, desperately. As for the Giants, I have no idea why they went after Jones, he was no better than Clifford in college, and against weak ACC competition.

Time to deal em while they have value. Both might have great future, but I don't think a new GM should risk his career on it.

Rebuild the OL. Get a new QB. Shore up the defense. None of the QBs in the draft are considered sure fire picks. Do your Intel and go with whichever one falls to you vs trading up for Jones.

A team like San Fran might trade for Barkley. Fringe playoff team that loves to run the ball, but injuries plagued the team. Been using a WR at RB during their winning streak.

Do you think it's time to deal McCaffrey or do you think he's got 2-3 years of near injury free productivity left?

Bringing back Cam was worse than getting Darnold, but they had to do something.

No way do I see Cam coming back. His shoulder isn't right. He can't throw deep. He's never been an accurate QB. His game was as a premiere running QB, who could pass. He can no longer do that. Christian has been used way too much. He'll get back, but he has 65 thousand miles on 80 thousand Michelin tires. That said, I think he'll be back. He's done far more than I thought he was capable of.

What do you want him to do, throw Cam under the bus? It's a stupid question to start with. Carolina was desperate for anything at QB. The responses on the tweet show the ignorance of fans. It's a one year deal. He's done.

Cousins not the problem in Minnesota. Bad luck and bad coaching…
Cousins is that type of QB that looks better in the paper than on the field. I look at guys like him, Stafford, Carr, etc. all the same. There is just something missing in their games. Very few guys are guys that always find a way to win but they are out there and their numbers aren't always pretty.
