As far as the Raiders job....what's wrong with the guy they have now???
They are still playing. Probably won’t say anything until after the season. They still have to go thru the process
Otoh

It can’t be official until the playoff run ends and an appropriate search occurs. Once that happens, the right answer for the Raiders has become obvious.Rich Bisaccia should be the team’s next head coach. The 61-year-old has stabilized a franchise rocked by controversy and tragedy, from the Jon Gruden resignation to the Henry Ruggs situation. Bisaccia [more]

Matt isn't being fired in Carolina. Their issue is QB and the owner knows it. They have no deep passing game and it's killing them. Darnold was a try, a bad try. Never like his game. He had one great game, and it was against, Penn State. Superman can't throw deep, nor could Teddy last year. They need a QB, desperately. As for the Giants, I have no idea why they went after Jones, he was no better than Clifford in college, and against weak ACC competition.
I dunno @Hotshoe. The Giants have no line so its virtually impossible for Barkley or Jones to do anything consistently throughout a game. You and I both saw Jones at Duke -- he's got ability (mobile, bigger arm than Clifford). True, it was the ACC but he's got talent. With that line, he's been getting killed. The ironic thing is that Gettleman had a reputation for building OLs thru the draft and free agency yet at both Carolina in his last two years and all four years at NY his lines truly stunk, not just average.

I'll also say this, Cam is beloved in Carolina. He's been a phenomenal teammate. Everyone on the team loves Cam Newton.
True, Cam is revered in the Carolinas. Hey, he got them to the super bowl.

I don't think Cam or Arnold will be seeing the field for the Panthers next year but this will be interesting. Rhule has to guess right in the offseason and get things going fast next season. Will a new QB come from free agency or thru the draft for the Panthers? No one has any idea at this point. The defense is good and young. Run MC when healthy is the best back in the league and the wideouts are very good. TE is non-existent and the line is at times horrendous, almost lethal to the QB.

So Matt has to get a QB who can play well, two real OLs, possibly another solid veterna LB and toss in a serviceable TE for good measure.

Cousins is just a weird commodity at QB. He's definitely better than the bottom half, but nowhere near the top 5-8 QBs.
Correct. He's a play-action QB that is not going to win games against top defenses by himself. He's smart and has probably maximized his talent and pay after college more than any other QB in the league. He's a good QB. BTW, compare his junior and senior stats at MSU to someone in blue and white - not so different. When Cousins came in the league, he held a clipboard. Clifford may get lucky and do the same. Will the latter be a good pro? Very doubtful but he's not that much different than then college-aged Cousins.

Another one bites the dust...Culley, the HC of the Texans gets axed. Weird...fire the guy when your best player can't play.

One more for the road!

That's some kind of BS. The dude got one year with a team coming off of 4-12 and having lost its only real franchise play in QB Desean Watson. You can make the case that Culley over performed based on what he came into. This smacks of the GM and owner having a preferred coach in line already. No other explanation for the firing after one year.
