Anyone else have their enthusiasm jilted somewhat with CJF's announced plan for a O vs D game that he seemed to infer will be interrupted regularly by thud periods, extended special teams periods,...... ??

If that plays out as expected there will likely be far less opportunities to actually observe any intel on likely starters at the positions of question, LB, Safety, DT....

But any opportunity to see the Blue & White line up is a plus.
not sure the announcers know which #9 QB is in. kind of crazy that they gave the same number to two guys since in fall it will have to change.

Jed and Phil said this AM they didn't expect to see any more than a couple sessions with Sean. That was off. He was out there a lot more than I expected. I thought it would be mostly CV, DA and BP.
Don’t know why a 6th year senior needs so many snaps. Is he a slow learner? Get the younger guys in there.

Clifford is going to be the Achilles of the 2022 PSU team.

Unfortunately I don’t think Franklin has the mental or intestinal fortitude to do the right thing.

How did Singleton and Allen look? What about LBs? Details are scant; other than Allar threw 2 INTs, I don't see much out there.

I thought Lee and Allen looked very good. Good burst and vision. Didn’t see much out of Singleton, although Mullen kept raving about him. Looked best catching passes out in flat. Ford looked good late against scrubs. Thought Kobe King played well at LB. Elsdon made no impact. Tinsley looked like a good possession receiver.

Therein lies the problem with Franklin.

No way what? That was the announced crowd.
I'm not sure why anyone gets a hard on for what's "announced" for a spring game. We walked in during the first quarter and people were walking out. Did you see the same?

Dude, no one got a hard on except for you. That was the announced attendance, that's a fact. Nowhere did I say I personally verified that number. If you counted a different attendance number, then reply to Bob. Otherwise, STFU.

What did you count from your couch?

No way. It was one of the smaller crowds I've seen in a while at BW. Weather was supposed to be crap but a game time it was fantastic.
Every year they announce crowds based upon "coverage", but I've been at 25+ B/W games and the density averages only about 50%. At most. Sure the seat back section (very small) is 90%+, but the upper sides are usually way less than 50% on a great attendance year, which this was not. I didn't go today, but from the TV giving a few glimpses the crowd looked like 30K to me. Nobody upstairs in the end zones at all, the sides had big empty areas on the top and corners, and the density looked less than for many other B/W games......... But who really cares. There were enough fans there to make a good atmosphere, to get loud reactions for good plays, and to make enough of an atmosphere for the recruits in attendance......

Only watched a replay, but..
- thought the OL looked decent on run blocking as well as pass blocking
- RB's looked good, but without true tackling who knows how many tackles they might have broken. Wonder where Holmes was.....
- secondary looked pretty good, but there were lots of open receivers as well.
- Tinsley looks good, and Saunders got a lot of chances and looks like a 2022 contributor. KLS looked more sure handed and Dottin made some plays. The "sleeper" or breakout player may be #85 Wallace who made a spectacular catch going up high to snag it.
- Veilleux is the 2022 backup QB. He looks good and for my money he looks more accurate than Clifford. The young QB's are just that, young, and have a good ways to go.....
- DL looks deep, but pass rush was nothing outstanding. But there is good competition. I believe #51 Beamon started and Millen was raving about him. Have to hope he knows what he's talking about. Mustipher said he was ahead of schedule on his rehab and implied he will be more than ready by Fall. The true freshman Durant #28 showed the quickness that the staff has been noting, but with the depth at DT and the need for a pass rush maybe he could help out at DE as a freshman given his small stature for a DT.
- McGraw and Townley, the redshirt FR DE's sure pass the looks test. Tall, big framed and athletic looking and both look pretty filled out after a year in the S&C program. But I didn't see them in the game. Anyone see them play? Are they good enough to play or are they just going to look good on the sidelines.....
