Not to mention, why does anyone assume she motivated primarily by money? There are a lot of reasons that could have played a part in her decision. Not the least of which is she wants to give the younger players an opportunity to shine. In my many years of being a Gamecock fan, I've never seen a star player hanging out with young players at USC athletic events as much as Aliyah. She's that kind of person. Why would any fan assume he/she knows more about her earning potential than she does? She knows what she's doing. You can bet the house that one of the reasons she knows what she's doing is having talked to some people.

Another mistake ppl make is comparing her potential 5th year earnings to her rookie contract. Yes, college may look better in the short term, but getting to that 2nd contract, free agency, etc. quicker in the WNBA will payoff in the long termI like Aliyah, a lot. And although it might not be entirely about money, I do believe it's about what's best for her at this stage. There's nothing wrong with that; there's nothing wrong with saying it, either, even if it is about money. She's not going to the pros to earn Less money, but whatever money she's earning because of her presence here, she was only going to earn it for one more year anyway. Time to go.
