Very. It looks like coaches are moving down the ladder rather than up. I would think A&M > Maryland > Villanova. But apparently it's the opposite.

I think the Big East schools without football have a competitive advantage over schools with football. Nova is a better than job than Maryland solely because of that. They don't have to split that NIL pot with much else. And Nova has some very wealthy alumni.

aTm over Maryland... that does seem an odd choice, but I think that NE corridor values basketball moreso than football. Down here, football is king. Buzz could also be doing that thing where you leave the school on decent terms before they get tired of watching you bang your head into your own ceiling.

Buzz is from Texas though, so none of it makes sense, really.

Had an A&M guy tell me they were coming for our coach. Since he’s an A&M fan, I wasn’t sure how he meant that. He followed it up with, “yeah, Beard’s a hell of a coach.” I left him with, “I doubt he’d beat your cheerleaders.”
You should’ve followed up with “aren’t you scared that Texas would hire him immediately after he’s announced?”

The Big 10 is at least = to the SEC financially and if this year is an indication - it might be easier to compete in the Big 10

I think this is what we’re seeing. Coaches getting to schools where it’s easier to win.

Before you believe any rumors about the new A&M coach, remember that they have decided not to hire a coach while he was in the air on the way to College Station.
