Helped. It means Big12 only gets 1 team in. It would help a lot if Southern Cal beats Notre Dame. Unfortunately Big10 probably getting 4 in. We need SEC to get 5. Texas, Georgia, Temnessee, Bama, Ole Miss seem certain, so we need one of those 5 to lose again. Tennessee beating Georgia woulda helped so much.

I disagree. If the Big12 championship was undefeated BYU vs Colorado, and Colorado wins it, BYU would be 12-1 and still a top 12 ranked team and definitely have a leg up on us.
I'm taking the "under" on a three-loss team making the playoff, if that's what you're thinking. But admittedly, this is uncharted territory, so not all possible dynamics have been observed. That much, I'll conceded.

Still to much in play to determine if BYU losing amounts to anything in regards to our chance for playoffs.
I don't think we are getting in regardless, if one or 2 teams lose. We are currently 21 in the CFP rankings. Assuming we move up 2 spots, you are hoping 7-8 teams have a collapse, the odds are just to great.
