Carolina grad here. I wasn’t a fan of the court storming, but it’s hard to see how we’re teetering on losing blue blood status. We’ve literally been in three title games since the last time Duke made an appearance. Consistency has been an issue for sure, but it’s not like we’ve had an IU type of drought when it comes to success.
I've always hated the Tarheels for many reasons but I see no chance of them ever losing blueblood status.

Nah missing the point.

we put the effort in we want the banners my point is UNC is moving to focusing on football.
That's not even remotely accurate. UNC hired a GM for basketball and upped our NIL for this season, which is how we outbid you for Caleb Wilson. We are not "focusing on football." A couple rogue Trustees went behind the Athletic Director's back to negotiate with Belichick, and suddenly you think we've made football a priority?

For Pete's sake man, read the news once in a while. We're currently having a debate between building a billion dollar new basketball arena or spending $600 million to completely renovate the Dean Dome. It's going to be one or the other, and it's happening soon. Does that sound like we aren't focused on basketball?

Very curious. I live in NC and most of my close friends are UNC fans - many with season tickets and I have never heard that. Additionally, UNC is preparing to either spend $600 million to refurbish the Dean Dome or build a new arena altogether. There’s a big debate among fans. Sounds like they’re really strapped for cash.
I love that you're so up to date with college bball news. You are 100% correct.

It is pure ignorance to state that UNC has lost their blueblood status. There will be ups and downs with every program but they won't be losing their status anytime soon.....

Lets be honest.....if someone wanted to make a case about losing blueblood status, UK has been flailing in the wind for 5-6 years at a minimum. They have looked nothing like a blueblood in recent history. Post-Covid Cal took a dump on our program and it is going to take a while to restore it to where it needs to be. Personally, I think UK and UNC are on similar paths at this point. Neither is where they want to be and I would bet money they both figure it out in time.

Only one Blue Blood will lose their status in our lifetime, and that's Indiana. I'd argue they should already forfeit that status, but it isn't up to me. UNC and UK aren't ever going to stop being Blue Bloods. We've won too many titles, been to too many Final Fours, and had so much sustained success that it would take decades of no Final Fours to make that happen.

Honestly, if schools want court storming to stop, it's very simple...any fan would be warned that field/court storming is not allowed while teams are still on the court/field.

The schools have security detain anyone on the court too early. They will be identified, and i it is their first offense, they will be fined heavily and banned from sporting events for 1 semester. Second offense, you are banned permanently from the school's sporting events or even kicked out of the school.

That may sound extreme... but the second offense is only extreme IF YOU CANNOT CONTROL YOURSELF. In which case, extreme measures are probably needed anyway b/c anyone who cannot control oneself is more likely to be the violent offenders due to lack of self-control.

Truthfully, if those in leadership really wanted it to stop, the conferences could even require it of their member schools.

Their fans didn't throw **** on or try to kill the other teams fans and players..
My family and I were taunted and harassed after a South Carolina football game a couple of years ago. I ended up in a shoving match with one of the punks. The same game, one of the KSR guys was sucker punched. Do I think we should cancel the rivalry? Are you kidding? I want to pummel them into oblivion every time we play.
