why does anyone making Ray Tanner money need an outside agency to help hire a coach? You would think anyone in this position would make their own hire and not require someone else to help. It’s your job to make these types of decisions and if you need help maybe you’re not the right person for the job. Not to mention the money they paid for the outside help. What a JOKE!

Liberty played a weaker schedule this year. The other years they played at least one P5 school. This year they played zero P5 schools.

Absolutley true. But even assuming they lose that game, he took them from 2 straight 8-5 seasons to 11-1 then. Still a pretty good improvement.

Lurker responded to that just above. Everywhere (4 different schools) that Chadwell has won big at, he took players and dominated similar talented teams.

The Chadwell train has left the station, imho. Beamer will get 2024 and 2025 to prove that he is more than a nepotism Head Coach. If Beamer fails, I doubt Chadwell will still be available. Though he might be (Freeze stuck around 4 seasons at Liberty). It's hard to KNOW such things.

Here is what I feel comfortable in saying without any doubt: Jamey Chadwell is a much, much better Head Coach than Shane Beamer. It's not close, imho. He will become a Head Coach at a P5 school and win big there, too. And when he does, those of us who wanted him to become Head Coach at Carolina will have the self-satisfaction of knowing that we had the Carolina Head Football Coach picked who could have made South Carolina a big winner for years and years to come. Those who have been down on him for whatever reason, will have to live with the "What if".

If it comes to fruition, as nothing is guaranteed, it will be a frustrating "I told you so".

It is not just South Carolina. In the last few weeks Texas A&M, Mississippi State, Michigan State. Syracuse, Indiana and Houston have passed on Chadwell. Maybe Chadwell holding out for the Carolina Panthers job? J/K.

This is contrary to what other posters have said about him turning down miss st and Syracuse, I think it was.

Tanner publicly thanked the staffing agency that gave him the idea of hiring Beamer. A coach literally underneath his nose. I have zero confidence that speaking to Chadwell ever crossed his mind. This program will always be mired in theft and mediocrity amongst men win no vision. Tanner said it himself he isn't a football guy. He hasn't been running what he's good at either. We need a flush up top. Strating with the Board of Trustee's.
He interviewed Chadwell. Ultimately decided that he valued having a coach with SEC recruiting experience more.

We will find out. I have my concerns that his offense would work against SEC caliber defenses.
Who knows for sure? And who knows what offensive adjustments he would make, if necessary? But here is what I do know: His CC teams beat Power 5 conference Kansas for 3 straight years. Though not good back then, Kansas was a roster of P5 recruited players. And his 2020 CC team gave BYU its only loss of the season. Let's hope that Shane can exhibit that kind of coaching skill since it looks like the NIL/Portal system has us at a disadvantage.

Excellent, excellent observation.

We are all for Beamer. I suspect he will get into the 2025 season, which I believe will be "make or break" for him. If it breaks, I hope the first call we make is to Chadwell. Not only is his team undefeated but, they have the 3rd ranked offense in the nation. Today's college football seems to favor the more offensive-minded teams.
Right you are sir. Every rule in the d@mn book favors offense. If Nick Saban - as staunch a run first/play defense first guy- finally admits and relents 5-6 years ago to the offensive explosion concepts that have dominated college football then you know you'd better be an offensive minded team first.

My only answer to that us that he plays lesser competition, but he us also playing lesser talent than he would at a P5 school.
I guess technically it's lesser competition....but this talk of them only playing bums is wrong too.
New Mexico state....team that beat Auburn and also a team that beat Jax State (remember them)...Liberty beat them handily.
There will be 2 (for sure) and maybe 3 HCs that are P5 head coaches out of that league that are offensive-minded within the next 2 years.

And if he doesn't succeed we won't hear a word from the ones who wanted him. There is a reason why he has interviewed at many P5 schools and has not received an offer. Why the hesitancy by all of these schools. I think he is a very good coach but because we passed on him doesn't mean we made a bad decision when 100% of the other P5 schools came to the same conclusion. Maybe he's a great G5 coach. Time will tell. Liberty is my other school so I'm glad he's there...

Yes, we're not the only ones not hiring him.

So Chadwell worked wonders at Coastal and is undefeated his first year at Liberty. Ever wonder what he could do at South Carolina? He deserves a chance at a major program.
He won’t have to wait very long.
