Probably not a popular opinion, but I really don't like the way Alabama plays. I know the basic strategy from an analytics standpoint, but they take a ton of wild shots. Seems like a gimmick style to me.

I just heard that Karl Towns and Julius Randle are returning to UK. Each have 3 years left and thus our front line problems are solved. And Dearon Fox will be our starting pg next year with Lowe backing him up.
He’s on at least his 5th alias this week, uses multiple accounts at the same time, has freely admitted it, taunted a moderator and is wreaking havoc here. Pray for him. That’s the best thing to do.
I am not an Oats fan like many on this board are/were. But, I will say that we can't ignore that Bama did have 2 very key players out for the game against UT. If Bediako is allowed to continue to play, Bama will have a huge advantage.
We must give Oats a pass here but we can't relent on how badly Pope sucks when he's dealt with nothing but injuries during his time here and has a sweet 16 in year 1 and TBD in year two.

For the record, I was one of the ones who did think the Pope hire was a good one. I am very encouraged by the growth I've seen in MM, Kam, JJ, etc. UK fans have cried about all the cupcakes UK has often played in the non-conference schedule yet this year showed that playing a weaker schedule early might not be such a bad idea. Nobody talks about it but Oweh's slow start was obviously from missing 4 weeks with a toe injury.
I say all that to say that I think Pope needs time to show what he can do at UK. We played a super tough schedule, had a ton of serious injuries, had some younger players adjusting to the college game, and here we are near the top of the SEC. I am not complaining.

BTW, I think Alabama elects its state court judges in partisan elections. So, you’re gonna get a bunch of doofuses mixed in with good judges and name recognition will play a huge role, as will money.

Asking the judge to recuse himself should be pretty uncontroversial in this case. Even if there’s nothing in his actual legal opinion that’s irregular, a donor deciding a case that affects an athletic program is enough of an appearance of impropriety that nobody will trust him to be unbiased.
Don’t be completely shocked if a different judge rules in favor of Bediako though. The role of the judge here isn’t to interpret and enforce NCAA rules, but to determine if those rules violate federal laws. This case seems like it could go either way, but the NCAA hasn’t won many of these cases lately.

I don’t get how the President of the University at Alabama (along with G Sankey of the SEC) doesn’t buck up and tell Oats we aren’t doing this at Al and we aren’t suing an Association we are a high level member of. It’s unpopular with 99% of our peers. It’s also casting you in particular and our school in a horrible national light.
