I thought this might be a top ten for poor in-game decisions and coaching. Has the quality of college HFC’s fallen that much?
You know, as much shiite we give Franklin, I do feel he is a top 10 coach in CFB. The change in asst coaches from year in to year out, the good recruiting classes, then the other bullshiite he has to deal with like the xfer portal, PSU Admin and HR. And the fact that PSU football has been pretty competitive since he has been here(you may not every season was great season), I think I agree. Just remembering back to some JoePa quotes, I think we are a couple of players away from being really good. Hopefully, he learns from every season and keeps fine tuning(and not like the coach from the Program where the veer is like novacane, give it time it will eventually work). I am feeling optimistic about the upcoming seasons.
I would agree he is a very good recruiter. He brings a lot of energy to the team. He makes the players go to class. His time management in games is bad. He does not know how to hold a lead. When PSU got leads against USC in the Rose Bowl and against Ohio State the team went into a shell and lost the lead. Last year against Illinois he did adjust to what Illinois was doing until too late. All considered I guess he is a top ten coach.
I don't know if I overlooked it if it was mentioned somewhere here, but Seider is now Co-offensive coordinator. Pass plays called by Yurcich and run plays called by Seider just like the Paterno days that many are yearning for?

Funny, but when I read the subject line, I said to myself "I gotta see this." Then when looked at the list, I couldn't think of another coach that I'd add. Might rank Fickell higher, but that still doesn't drop Franklin out of the Top Ten.
