In order of greatest number of times seen:
Widespread Panic x 128
Phish x 52
GD x 23 (all prior to Jerry's death - have never seen Dead and Co or any other iteration of the Dead)
Rusted Root (I don't even know the count - they were a house band in Oakland when I was a senior in HS and then played around Wstn PA a bunch through days at PSU)
God Street Wine x 15ish
ABB and Umphrey's McGee x 8
Blues Traveler and moe. x 7
Slayer, Iron Maiden and the JGB x 6
Guns & Roses x 5
Metallica x 4
Pink Floyd and Mark Knopfler x 3 (MK fist time was at the Civic Area in August 89 - the thing that I remember most about this show was that when Mark came out to play with Eric Clapton I was thinking that anyone who thought Clapton was more talented was a complete f***ing moron and that anytime I get a chance to see Mark I need to go)
DMB x 3 (the first two shows were at a place called Atlantis on the Outer Banks - 50 then maybe 200 people in two successive years - then a 17k amphitheater outside Atl. - I walked out and have never listed again)
RHCP x 2
Neil Young
Bob Dylan
Eric Clapton
Black Sabbath
Dirty Heads
Oysterhead
CSN
Rush
Gov't Mule
Leftover Salmon
String Cheese Incident (actually they are now at 5x)
Billy Idol
LA Guns
BB King
Steve Winwood
Steve Miller Band
Little Feet
Van Halen (with DLR but with Wolfie and not MA)
The Who
Then you get to Queen Bee and the Blue Hornet Band and John Cunningham (no idea how many times for either)
So many Jam Bands that never really made it that I cannot possibly recap here.

Best concert I ever attended was Phish on Saturday 11/11/1995 at the Fox theater in Atl GA - worst show ever a tie between Phish one week later 11/18/95 in North Charleston SC or the aforementioned DMB show at Lakewood Amp. in Atl. - walked out of both.

Florence and the Machine put on a great show, highly recommended. Lana Del Rey puts me to sleep, lol. RATM currently holds the top spot on my live show bucket list, I'm hoping to catch them on their current tour sometime next year but I'm hearing rumors they may cancel it after multiple covid delays. I've been waiting to see them for decades after they cancelled dates ~20 years ago when on tour with Beastie Boys and Mike D broke his arm. And of course shortly after that happened, RATM broke up.

Me too, that sucked hard. I did get to see the Beasties in Philly on, I think, their last tour.

I saw Prophets of Rage put on a really fun show a few years ago, seen Audioslave twice, but alas no Rage Against the Machine yet.

I saw Aaron Lewis acoustic at the Hershey Theatre 10 or 15 years ago. He took requests and sang a bunch of covers as well as some of Staind songs. It was a cool experience. I think this was from around that time.

I have to say, I’m impressed with a lot of these lists. Such a great diversity of artists. Well done, well done.

I was hoping to see someone who had seen the X-pensive Winos. I think they would have been fun.

More than I can remember. The original Bonarro and about 10 NOLA Jazz fests along with 2-3 other decent size festivals back in the day. Some of these acts I have seen 40+ times, but there are still a ton of bands I'd love to see. Best new act I've seen in about a decade is Bill Strings...won the bluegrass grammy last year and just shreds the acoustic live.

Shemekia Copeland and Arthur on guitar are two of the nicest people you could ever meet. We used to go see her all the time at Cafe Classics in I guess Doylestown. She was a favorite of the owner Elaine and played there quite a bit early on. She would do two shows a night and we would go to both and go to both as well if she played multiple nights. Shemekia and Arthur told us all about their opening for the Stones when the one tour for the Stones had them playing one small show, one indoor large show, and one outside arena show in each city. If I recall they opened for them when they did the small show in Chicago. That was great getting their stories about meeting the Stones.

Yah, many of the Alt country guys and gals are on my list, I have seen a bunch at Willie Nelson Road Show type concerts. etc.

Your list reminds my I could include on mine Kid Rock, Cheryl Crow, Social Distortion, BlackBerry Smoke. There are a bunch more, it just requires your memory to kick in.

The Who recently visited Cincy for the first time since the tragic stampede in 1979. I wrote about the event a couple of years ago.

The Who recently visited Cincy for the first time since the tragic stampede in 1979. I wrote about the event a couple of years ago.

So, a day or two before, we saw The Who in Pittsburgh on that tour. They played Sunday night at the Igloo, possibly 12/1. The Grateful Dead played the Stanley on Friday and Saturday night. We were in town for all three shows ( a bunch of college kids holed up in the William Penn )

Both Bands were also staying at the William Penn as were legions of their fans. It may have been one of the most surreal experiences of the Long Strange Trip I have had the good fortune to enjoy. The Who played Sunday night and there was definitely an energy in the cold winter air That night.

Nice write up BTW Bill. Thanks.
