risk of 4 & 5 star players holding out for a better offer just went down.

Anyone that wants to change (see CJ) late in the process, may not have someone to change to. Unless, some scuzzy coach decides to pull an offer from some long time commit in the last couple of weeks before signing. And I guarantee you , after that happens a couple of times it will be used in recruiting against that coach.

To that end though, Coach Dan Mullen better get on the stick and start getting some solid commits or we will have a class full of 3 stars next Feb.

...The SEC has suddenly discovered how they can execute an "above board" Tony Soprano-type shakedown scam of one of it's charter members:

Just allow MSU to keep the cowbells, but after every season make up arbitrary "fines" because "the cowbell situation @ Miss. State is getting better, but they are still a nuisance."

I guarantee you the SEC will do this for years, until somebody sues them over it.

Aftergranting Cam & DaddyNewton clemency, the SEC has revealed themselves to be as corrupt & thuggish as Tammany Hall.

Unless other conferences follow suit, it puts the SEC at a competitive disadvantage - especially in basketball. One player can make a huge difference.

Thanks again, Nutt.

Totally agree.
Knox helped UNC out a ton this past season after leaving Bama. They graduated, they should be able to leave without sitting out.

Of course the indentured servant format surrounding transfer rules, LOIs, and coaches leaving is just flat out stupid from the eyes of the player. It's a totally jacked system.

You are full of ****. <div>
</div><div>Before last season, everyone was whining that the compromise was an SEC plot to permanently ban cowbells and have State fans take the blame for it.</div><div>
</div><div>Instead, the SEC gave a heads up to MSU after the first two games that they had violated the rule and they had only two more games left to prove they could follow the rules. Our administration finally got through the thick skulls of most fans, and we were compliant for the last two games.</div><div>
</div><div>We were fined for the first two games, just like we knew we would be. We were not fined for the last two games, just like we hoped we wouldn't be. And the SEC has granted us one more year to prove we can do it all season. If we are compliant in all four games, I think the rule becomes permanent.</div>

You still have 25 player per year to reach your 85 scholarship players, so in 4 years you can sign 100 players and that leaves you with a 15% attrition rate.
There is built in leeway. If you evaluate correctly and develop players the right way you won'teverneed to bring in 25 anyway.
