That's racist!
What the heck are you talking about?

Either I'm missing your attempt at humor or you don't know who Danny White is.....he only led the Cowboys to 3 consecutive NFC championship games. Never could get to or win the SB so even though he had a very good career half the fan base still looks down on him.

So, Wilson has signed with the giants. Fields is with the Jets. Pittsburgh needs a QB. Jerry needs a headline.

Jerry Jones is not nearly as worried about a championship as Cowboy fans are. He's about the bottom line and as long as Dak is a positive contributor to that bottom line he ain't going anywhere.
Jerry understands marketing too much to let Dak go. Outside of Mahomes he is the most marketable player in the league, and the perfect QB for Jerry... smart, good looking, community engaged, and an absolute brand magnate. Jerry makes up for Dak's salary 10X with his marketability.

the Dak contract is one of the dumbest in the league right now. Pittsburgh is one of the steadiest organzations in the league. There is no way Pitt is making a deal unless they literally give nothing back in return.. or the contract is re-done to create more salary cap for Pitt.

This is dumb... the dallas cowboys QB is always going to be marketable... look no farther than Tony Romo.

Dak made a good bit on endrosement deals a few years ago ... moving forward he's not even in the top 10 in terms of most marketable players.

Props on Dak for hitting it big when the lightening struck.... but to say he's more marketable than Allen, Hurts, Barkley, Jackson, Jefferson.. and others is plain silly.... if ANY of those players were in Dallas they'd blow up the marketing way more than Dak even thought about

interesting take. I guess the Cowboys should have just signed one of the other QB’s of Dak’s caliber who are standing around taking deals for less than him.
Dak is a mid tier QB. Hes played, until recent, in one of if not the worse divison in football. He's had talent around him throughout his entire career until this past season and he didnt have talent due to the fact he insisted on getting paid. Amazing how Josh Allen and Joe Burrows and Mahomes have taken less than they could have to ensure others around them get paid and the team gets better... but not Dak.

The cowboys would have been better off signing someone like Kirk Cousins, Darnold, Baker Mayfield. etc and keeping the high end talent around them than giving Dak one of the dumbest deals in history.

All 3 of the ones above are in the Dak range or better than he is... and making tons less money.

Dak chose to get paid. and props to him for that... he sacrificed winning to get paid. Unless he wants to start playing like the 1-2-3 best QB in the league... he'll never win. hence why pittsburgh aint taking on that contract, unless its re-done. They aint stupid.

Another interesting take. I don’t remember the Dallas QB being marketed between Aikman and Romo.
And those other players listed being more marketable than Dak ever thought about: you serious Clark?

Those chips were for painting, not dipping.
If your argument is he was injured last year thus there are health concern, that’s a fair statement.
To put him on the level with Darnold and crew is just plain asinine. Dak was second in MVP voting in 2023.

B/T aikman and romo... there was a 4 year period where they played musical chairs with their QBs.

Much like Dak didnt get any record breaking endorsements deals until he was locked in as the starter...

Burrows, Allen, Hurts, Barkley--- you put them in dallas you dont like they blow up?

If you dont think being the QB for the most valuable sports team in the world automatically gets you more market value than say someone in Buffalo... then continue living in the world you live in..... and if you think Dak is anything close to a top 10 in terms of the face of the NFL... again continue on.

Make Dak the QB of the Bengals-- and Make Burrows the QB of the Cowboys--- Half the world wouldnt know who Dak is, and Burrows would triple everyone in the league in terms of marketing.

Dak has had 1 high level season in 9 years as a starter. With talent all around him his entire career.

Give sam darnold that same type of time to develop and the talent around him... he puts up similar numbers. He already showed that this past season... and at a major discount.

Again this is a simple debate. Name the teams that would trade their QB for Dak at this moment? Here i'll help you

NOs:
Buffalo, Baltimore, Miami, Cincy, Houston, Denver, KC, SD, Philly, Washington, Chicago, Det, GB, Tampa, SF

Probably no:
Arizona, Carolina, Indy

I just named 15 teams for sure that in no way would trade their QB and their QB room to add Dak.. and 3 more that probably wouldnt.

If over half the league wouldnt be interested in obtaining your services... then your not a top 3 QB in the league.. hell not even a top 5.... wonder how many teams would move their entire organziaton strategy around to get: Allen, Burrows, Daniels, Hurts, Mahomes, Jackson---- bet its quiet a few. That alone is the difference in the QBs

theyve got their QB that they gave long term money to...but if you want to move them to the maybe list go ahead.... however a healthy Tua has shown the ability to put up record breaking numbers in their system.

It's a 2-year guaranteed deal for ~$50mm, which is on average for a top 1/3 starting QB; not unlike Dak. They do not have confidence that Tua will finish a season, and they have a "win now" mentality even though they shouldn't be, which means they'd like to have a plug and play QB that doesn't have CTE. And this concludes the most Miami Dolphins discussion on SPS likely in history.

tua signed a 4 year deal. Which you are right as 2 years left on it.

Tua when healthy has put up numbers... Dak also doenst have a clean bill of health either. I dont think Miami trades a healthy Tua for a healthy Dak.

But again i see the point if you want to say they'd entertain the idea. Hence why i said if you want to move Miami from the NOs to the maybes go ahead.

Point is and was... when half the league isnt willing to do what it takes to get you as a QB. You arent top 5. Every team in the league would do backflips to get Mahomes, Jackson, Allen, Burrows, Daniels, etc--- we are debating whether Miami would give up a injury prone Tua for Dak.. which you could be having same covno about Darnell and Cousins that miami might have interest in ... again showing that Dak isnt in the conversation for top 5 QB in the league and much closer to the Darnells and Cousins of the wordl than to the Mahomes/Jacksons/Allens/Burrows.

Think you just made my point with the Tony Romo comment, Tony was good looking and smart. When Jerry is selling to Ford, Pepsi, AT&T... he has to be able to sell marketability, and Dak is perfect. And, yes he is more marketable than the ones you mentioned, the proof is in the advertising.

riiiighhhttttt... dak is more marketable than Joe Burrows?

Again... the dallas cowboys are the wealthiest franchise in sports. Their QB if hes worth a crap will always garner attention... and more than deserved because that position is the face of americas team. Put burrows, allen, mahomes, or a laundry list of other players in the league in that position and the marketing handles itself.

To think Jerry is keeping Dak at QB because hes marketable is downright dumb. Any person in that position is going to be extremely marketable,... and there are plenty in this league that would be much more marketbable than Dak given the position hes in.... dont get me wrong, there are plenty that wouldnt be... but to say he's even top 10 just isnt the case. If he were the QB of the panthers, half the country wouldnt even know who is he, despite the looks and smarts.

Jerry is the problem in Dallas. Not Dak.
They have had mid tier talent over the last several years. Sure, their OL was good in 2016 but this year Their 2nd Wr is not any good. They ignore the DT and safety position. They signed zeke at Rb. Fat *** zeke! Yet, half the people here say Dak is the problem. Simply wrong and just falling for Jerry’s propaganda

Dak has always had a #1 wideout, and at times two #1 wide outs (lamb, cooper). He spent years with 3 all-pro o-lineman who will all be HOFers...and 5 years in a row with a line that was rated inside the top 5. Zeke was for a stretch one of the running backs in the league. He entered the league with a HOF TightEnd.

There was also one season where they had one of the best defenses in the league... and hes currentyl got the best kicker in the league.

Hypotheticals don’t hold up in reality. Dak is second only to Mahomes in NFL endorsements. And by the way, there’s no 's' at the end of Burrow—you’d think someone so quick to call others dumb would catch that.

Dak has only had a legit #1 wr and that has been for the past 2 seasons. He had a good O line his first 2-3 years. Since then, it's been trash. Only steady was Z Martin. He's never had a good TE, Witten was washed up. His running game has been azzz for years now. He's had to carry the load, knowing they couldn't run the ball. The defense has been pretty pedestrian for most of his career as well. Could get turnovers a couple years ago but any team with a balanced attack, they folded and folded quick. Cooper was a decent #2 for a couple years but he always folded in big games. CeeDee the past two years, has finally given Dak a true #1 but still not having a running game and not a good option at TE or even a better #2 or #3 WR, good defenses can plan to neutralize CD and keep in check.

While I agree he didn’t deserve 60mil a year(Allen,Mahomes,Lamar,Burrow only ones that comes close) he’s much better than mid tier. The contract amount has skewed the perception of Dak. He is a top 7-10 QB by every metric.

Dak is extremely Marketable because 1. He’s black 2. He’s white 3. He’s buttoned up 4. He says the right things 5. He stays out of politics 6. He’s the QB of the worlds most valuable franchise

Dak is a QB’s QB. Brady, Rodgers, Roethlisburger all recently have said he is their favorite QB to watch because he is actually playing the position and is doing so much more at the line of scrimmage than any other QB. The Cowboys ask a lot of Dak and that’s why they paid him what they did. I have no doubt he his worth that to them I just wish he would have taken less so he could get some help.

The Cowboys NFCCG drought preceded Dak. Same reason Romo, another very good QB couldn’t win there. Jimmy Johnson built the Cowboys success while Jerry was getting business side straightened out and was less involved in football operations. Switzer was just right place right time. Since Jerry has been involved in day to day football operations you see what the results have been.

Jerry Jones is not nearly as worried about a championship as Cowboy fans are. He's about the bottom line and as long as Dak is a positive contributor to that bottom line he ain't going anywhere.
The flip side of that is as long as being the Cowboys’ QB adds more to Dak’s bottom line than any other franchise can/would (and it has/does), he doesn’t WANT to go anywhere else.

Put another way, Dak isn’t nearly as worried about working in Dallas as his fans are.

Jerry has had his hand in the football side of things from day one.

This is something the Jerry haters cant handle. The Cowboys during Jerry Jones tenure are one of the top 5 organzations in ALL of football. 3 super bowls. More winning seasons.... if you dont believe it, go look it up. He's in the pro football HOF.

As much as people want to point the finger at him... heres the reality. He's been very successful in doing things his way, both on and off the field.

He's attempted to build this thing around Dak for years. And he's tried it every way possible. Again contrary to what this board thinks... Witten was solid when Dak arrived. Cooper was an all-pro. He added Lamb with the only high draft pick he had. The OL has had 3 hall of fame fixtures on it for the majority of Daks time there, and was rated inside the top 5 6 straight years. Hes had the best D in football one season...... the one constant thru all that is Dak.... and Dak has figured out a way to choke when the light shines brighest. People want to blame Jerry for that... and thats plain crazy.

And whats even worse is you have a guy like Josh Allen who can run circles around Dak, and Cool Joe in Cincy.. taking less money for the people around em.... and Dak holding out for every last penny.

Again Jerry has 3 super bowl.... until Dak has more than 3 playoff wins.. he shoulders a huge load as to why there hasnt been the success over the last few years.

Life long cowboy fan. Live in Dallas for half my life. Probably know more than this entire board does on the ins and outs of the cowboys... Dak isnt the only reason why.. but hes a big reason... and the cowboys would have been wise to let him walk or call his bluff and see if he really wanted to sign a deal with Las Vegas

Excuse me? Are you saying the Cowboys have had more winning seasons than any other franchise since Jerry has taken over or that he's had more winning seasons than losing seasons? If it's the former you're dead wrong. Cowboys have had 16 winning seasons since 1989. Steelers have had 28. I'm sure there are other franchises that have had at least 16 winning seasons since 89.
