The point remains that PSU has lost at least two regular season games each season since 2016. Could happen again this year.
I prefer to look on the "bright side." After two loses or being out of playoff contention our "elite" fans insist that all games are meaningless. They will all then disappear since it makes no sense spending time bitching and complaining about something that is meaningless  :sneaky:

I looked up Penn State's recruiting budget rank. I found information for 2018, 2019 and 2020.

In 2018, PSU ranked 8th at $1.4 million spent on recruiting
In 2019, PSU ranked 8th at $1.52 million spent.
In 2020, PSU ranked 5th (no money figure given)

These are the articles where I found the information:

https://www.sports-king.com/how-much-money-college-football-recruiting-3516/

This February 2, 2023 StateCollege.com article by Ben Jones provides a summary of PSU recruiting spending for the last decade:

https://www.statecollege.com/articl...ate-football-a-decade-of-recruiting-spending/

It says that PSU spent $1.48 million for recruiting for the 2021-2022 fiscal year, the most spent since the $1.52 million in 2019. It doesn't give a rank, but it says that PSU generally falls within the top 10 of recruiting spending.

The article also contained this optimistic quote from CJF:

“This is no knock on anybody, but I do think for the first time from the Board [of Trustees] to the President, to the AD, to the head football coach, we have a chance to have an alignment for really the first time,” Penn State coach James Franklin said on his radio show in October. “This is extremely competitive and it is extremely competitive year-round. And the more wins that we can get in the offseason, the better chance we’re going to be able to do it on Saturdays. Because the margin of error is so small."

They do? OSU is breaking in a new QB too. While McCord will be entering his 3rd season he has thrown less passes in 2 seasons than Allar did as a true frosh. OSU lost several good players to the NFL. I like the fact that PSU has both of their coordinators back. We’ll see
I think MHJR is areal difference maker we don’t have—at least I don’t think we have. Their new QB is PA guy we tried to recruit.

These days that translates to "my career is dead so I troll for clicks". I can't believe they still give him credentials. He should go back to getting gossip at the bowling alley bar.

Moreso, It translates "My finger is up my butt".

Allar will make the WRs better. He has such a quick release. If he can get the ball out on quick game routes (slants, seams, hitches, speed outs) and LOS screen game - bubbles, stands, slips - then the WRs can show their athletics and make big plays with their feet in space. Getting athletes in space isn't always on the athlete themselves, if the QB can get them the ball quicker on their breaks and in space - look out. A few to keep your eye on - Tre Wallace, Theo Johnson, and Kaden Saunders... playmakers in space.
