FIFY.Sincevirtually every Penn State thinksDavid Jones is both an A S S hole and a fraud you most be either a complete troll, David Jones, or both. Which is it?
And no, I won't be clicking the link you posted.
I thought they would double Rhoades previous salary and sign him for $2.5.I watched the video yesterday. I won't disagree with Jones about some of his comments, but even he thinks Rhoades would not have come here if it were not for a significant committment by PSU to basketball. A committment they have not made befor
Kraft has two major issues to address. Of the two, NIL is second in importance. Karft indicated that he was going to "fix it." Presumably he thought he did, but he didn't. There has been a reset and the hope is that it now moves in a positive direction.I thought they would double Rhoades previous salary and sign him for $2.5.
The fact they went to $3 million, with escalators over 7 years, is good. The fact the numbers were released is evidence they knew they had to pay and be closer to market rate, and they knew they would face huge criticism if they weren’t.
As for their “commitment” Kraft now has to deal with NIL, facilities, and other budget issues. For 9 months he has failed to address these things in an adequate way. Now is his chance. Will Kraft be allowed to do the things to compete with the other B1G programs? The other B1G schools are not sitting still. He has a long way to go.
I like Rhoades as a coach. I don’t expect much for the next couple years. 5 or 6 wins in the B1G and a .500 out of conference record will be tough to achieve.
The video addressed basketball and issues related to basketball. There was no discussion of Krafts performance related to football, wrestling, baseball and other PSU sports and administrative matters. Jones criticized and complemented Kraft on his basketball related work performance.Kraft has two major issues to address. Of the year two, NIL is second in importance. The King Kong issue is Beaver Stadium. Ms. Excellence basically stuck her head in the mud and focused on facilities that were never going to get funded, let alone provide a return. Indications are that something is in the works. My guess is that they know what they want to do, now have to figure out how to pay for it, not a trivial undertaking. Until there is meaningful movement on Beaver Stadium, there won't be much in the way of progress on other facilities.
As for budget issues, Kraft acknowledged what some of us here knew for years; that he inherited a , baseball and their related bloated department. He fired five top-level, in salary and nothing else, administrators. I don't expect any further moves to make headlines. We'll seet to wwa what he's done next February.

Why would anyone care what Dave Jones has to say about anything, especially anything PSU related? The video addressed basketball and issues related to basketball. I can understand how you would have trouble commenting upon and adding anything relevant to a thread you won’t entirely read or watch.
Is there a trophy for "spending more money"?I thought they would double Rhoades previous salary and sign him for $2.5.

Let me count the ways-Why would anyone care what Dave Jones has to say about anything, especially anything PSU related?
He hates PSU more than you do- no thanks.Let me count the ways-
1. He has covered the basketball program for 30 plus years.
2. He’s not a cheerleading homer like so many other “reporters”.
3. He has attended more PSU basketball games than all but a handful of people.
4. He has spoken with all the people involved in the current program.
5. He has a knowledge of the game.
I know these things are difficult to understand for so many know-nothing, band jumping, PSU fans.
I wasn't responding to Jones's video. I was responding to your post, specifically the phrase "....Kraft now has to deal with NIL, facilities, and other budget issues." Nowhere did I see that limited to basketball. And even if it was, football overwhelms it. Everything takes second place. Basketball doesn't move forward until decisions are made on the arena and that doesn't happen until work on Beaver Stadium moves past the starting line. The video addressed basketball and issues related to basketball. There was no discussion of Krafts performance related to football, wrestling, baseball and other PSU sports and administrative matters. Really? It’s not 1973. Amateur college sports is dead. If you want to compete in the current day you have to spend $, or (to paraphrase Joe Pa) you are going to leave D1 sports to the Miamis and Alabamas. Is there a trophy for "spending more money"?
If so, does it look anything like the Land Grant trophy? If so, hard pass.
So you value what Dave Jones writes. Welcome to a club of two.
I dont need to present my PSU credentials to you for approval. He hates PSU more than you do- no thanks.
Interesting you can’t counter with a valid argument. Typical. So you value what Dave Jones writes. Welcome to a club of two.
I seldom pay attention to Jones. The few times I do, it's obvious what he tries to do and that he's not very good at it.I dont need to present my PSU credentials to you for approval.
Did he hurt your feelings?
I've made my point, dipstick. Jones has two; the one at the top of his head and the one he sits on.Interesting you can’t counter with a valid argument. Typical.
True to form. Fail to admit your error, fail to come up with a coherent argument when confronted with fact, go to name calling. Rinse. Repeat in next thread.I've made my point, dipstick. Jones has two; the one at the top of his head and the one he sits on.
No error to acknowledge, dipshit, and as long as you want to lead with your face, I'll be happy to oblige you.True to form. Fail to admit your error, fail to come up with a coherent argument when confronted with fact, go to name calling. Rinse. Repeat in next thread.

You state you will not watch the video. You then choose to comment on a post without context. You are corrected. You choose to defend with another post, again ignoring your lack of context. Yet, you triple down with name calling and foolishness. No error to acknowledge, dipshit, and as long as you want to lead with your face, I'll be happy to oblige you.
A .500 out of conference record is not acceptable. Look at this past year:I thought they would double Rhoades previous salary and sign him for $2.5.

lol- who do you think you're fooling? I've read enough of your posts to know you have a negative view of pretty much everything PSU sports related. You seem whiny and entitled.I dont need to present my PSU credentials to you for approval.

My comment was on your post, *****. Just keep on keepin' on.You state you will not watch the video. You then choose to comment on a post without context. You are corrected. You have to be a pathetic little man with an incredible inferiority complex.
You could add that he is the most wired in reporter, that he is a superior story teller and his columns generally have analagies that are spot on and beyond the imagination of the average PSU scribe.Let me count the ways-

O'Brien would break Jones's neck if he had the opportunity. Speaks louder. You could add that he is the most wired in reporter, that he is a superior story teller and his columns generally have analagies that are spot on and beyond the imagination of the average PSU scribe.
Wired in and trusted by both O'brien and Shrewsberry. He was the one person both of those individuals called to provide reasoning and information realtive to their decisions to leave PSU. That fact alone speaks volumes.

Well, we went 9-2vs those opponents. Would you be happier if we had lost one more?A .500 out of conference record is not acceptable. Look at this past year:
Winthrop
Loyola, MD
Butler
Furman
VA Tech
Colorado St
Lafayette
Clemson
Canisius
Quinnipiac
Delaware State
I hope I didn't miss anybody but PSU should be able to go 8-3 vs those type of opponents right off the bat.

Yes.... Reaper's post covers topics other than basketball....so what? I for one liked his post and glad he composed it. Not sure why you are so defensive in your replies....almost like you have a vested interest in Mr Jones. Shame we all can't act like College graduates and get along....and stop the grade school insulting simply because someone has a different view, or posts something slightly off topic.
