Yes.... Reaper's post covers topics other than basketball....so what? I for one liked his post and glad he composed it. Not sure why you are so defensive in your replies....almost like you have a vested interest in Mr Jones. Shame we all can't act like College graduates and get along....and stop the grade school insulting simply because someone has a different view, or posts something slightly off topic. Monies that could or should be spent on PSU's basketball program cannot be discussed without acknowledging the context: a) that the Athletic Department's overwhelming priority is what to do with beaver Stadium and how to pay for it; and b) the University at-large is dealing with nin-figure annual deficits with no apparent immediate solutions. But for the laughing jackals like Jones and Flounders, PSU only exists for their amusement and as a source of column filler.

The major question from the podcast is does Flounder wear that Alabama visor when he takes it up the ***.

Flounder and Jones are the two biggest slobs in the business. At least they should try to not look like they just rolled out of bed. It’s embarrassing.

Really? It’s not 1973. Amateur college sports is dead. If you want to compete in the current day you have to spend $, or (to paraphrase Joe Pa) you are going to leave D1 sports to the Miamis and Alabamas.

I dislike the system. I would be fine with it if the B1G said they were abandoning D1 and turning to an Ivy League like system. That ain’t going to happen. Too bad. You know why? Things are going to get worse.

Kraft has two major issues to address. Of the two, NIL is second in importance. Karft indicated that he was going to "fix it." Presumably he thought he did, but he didn't. There has been a reset and the hope is that it now moves in a positive direction.

The King Kong issue is Beaver Stadium. Ms. Excellence basically stuck her head in the mud and focused on facilities that were never going to get funded, let alone provide a return. Indications are that something is in the works. My guess is that they know what they want to do, now have to figure out how to pay for it, not a trivial undertaking. Until there is meaningful movement on Beaver Stadium, there won't be much in the way of progress on other facilities.

As for budget issues, Kraft acknowledged what some of us here knew for years; that he inherited a bloated department. He fired five top-level, in salary and nothing else, administrators. I don't expect any further moves to make headlines. We'll see what he's done next February.

Let me count the ways-

1. He has covered the basketball program for 30 plus years.

2. He’s not a cheerleading homer like so many other “reporters”.

3. He has attended more PSU basketball games than all but a handful of people.

4. He has spoken with all the people involved in the current program.

5. He has a knowledge of the game.

I know these things are difficult to understand for so many know-nothing, band jumping, PSU fans.

Imagine you are David Jones, 30+ years ago, embarking on the next chapter of your career. Now imagine that your future is unveiled and you will be bound to write for a fourth rate paper in a backwater for the remainder of your professional life. No wonder you look like you do.

Having watched the video I am interested to see how the administration deals with the fact that the athletic department doesn't control the BJC. MBB doesn't currently have the ability to practice at BJC on their own schedule. That needs to be changed immediately.

Basketball team has a practice facility. Does it need the BJC regularly?
