I can support the young men but dont have to watch them being put into unwinnable situations by a coach who could lose pee wee games
OK. Well, I hope they get a coach at some point that is up to your expectations so you can become a fan again. We’ll keep a seat open on the bandwagon for you when that time comes.I can support the young men but dont have to watch them being put into unwinnable situations by a coach who could lose pee wee games
100% this... there are 2 coaches in the last 10 years with above a .200 wining % against top 10 teams. And you can guess who they are.Yeah, any coach with a clue has a winning record against Top 10 teams...
You don't like him then use something like the running game or clock management...the comments about "record against Top 10 teams" are absurd.
If Penn State gives this mediocre used car salesman a 10-year contract, I will be done with Penn State.
Groupie/stalker? I'm just a fan.Not a big Franklin fan, but don’t let the door hit your *** on the way out, WVB groupie/stalker.
Aim for 4 yards to make up for the .5 yard B1G bad ball spot drillYou're not thinking big enough...3.5 yards baby!
Now there you go confusing our resident fanatics with facts100% this... there are 2 coaches in the last 10 years with above a .200 wining % against top 10 teams. And you can guess who they are.
Shat is Saban's record against top ten? Ryan Day? Urban Meyer? Sure we can hate him for the line, running game, clock management, lack of recruiting, lack of player development, etc. The list is long... he ain't a good coach. Period.Yeah, any coach with a clue has a winning record against Top 10 teams...

Gotta admire him though. Any guy who can get paid more than 6 million per year, for something message board posters are better at, is a genius.Shat is Saban's record against top ten? Ryan Day? Did I miss something? PSU had Meyer, Saban and or Day lined up to come here?Shat is Saban's record against top ten? Ryan Day? Urban Meyer? We all know the stats. I also know that we’re 15 total points from being undefeated this season. So, in my opinion a slightly better offense should start flipping those close losses to wins.Spot on, forgot to mention record against top 10 and/or ranked teams. 2-11 against top 10 or something like that and lost last 9.
One of those losses was on homecoming to Illinois. 8 years in and I’m tired of hearing “how close“ we are. At this point we are close to being irrelevant. We all know the stats. I would be more worried if we were getting blown out in losses, but we’re not. A few more better talented recruits and no serious injuries would also have worked wonders this year.
Definitely bummed out about this season, but the future is looking bright in my opinion.
you Asked for coaches with winning records against top 10, Franklin makes more than 2 of them.Did I miss something? PSU had Meyer, Saban and or Day lined up to come here?
Logic tells you that an average team will beat the top 10 (average rank of 5 with an average of 1 loss) at most about 10% of the time, a pretty good competitive team will win about 20% of the time, and it takes a very good team to exceed that. But fans don’t run on logic.100% this... there are 2 coaches in the last 10 years with above a .200 wining % against top 10 teams. And you can guess who they are.
so what?you Asked for coaches with winning records against top 10, Franklin makes more than 2 of them.
That's fair, but it also makes Franklin merely an average coach at 2-13 during his PSU tenure. Both wins are from 5 seasons ago and resulted from a great 2016 team.Logic tells you that an average team will beat the top 10 (average rank of 5 with an average of 1 loss) at most about 10% of the time, a pretty good competitive team will win about 20% of the time, and it takes a very good team to exceed that. Do you really think we will beat O$U every 10-15 years? You need to lower your expectations. I think the new contract language will state, "Keep the game against O$U relatively close with one blowout loss allowed every 5 years".I look forward to 6-6, 7-5, and an occasional 8-4 season with a win over tOSU every ten to fifteen years. I hope that CJF gets the ten-year deal and the upgrades, with the result that there is no appreciable improvement in the team's won loss record. I can't take the excitement of even the thought of meaningful PSU games in November. Now back to my old-man, after dinner nap. I'm spent.
Performance based pay is a concept that has not traveled to the PSU outpost.I know I'm an impressionable individual, but even I am amazed that you have apparently seen the light. It's refreshing to learn that others have an appreciation for "performance pay"....accomplishments get rewarded....significant accomplishments get highly rewarded.
Underperformance, especially relative to compensation, means we need to have a "discussion".
I distinctly remember him telling us to lower expectations.Joe warned about lowered expectations
All you hear out of Cael Sanderson is WINNING. No leveraging, no posturing, no I'm going to blah, blah, blah...just winning.Depends, what will he ask for if he underperforms yet again next year? I'm all for modernizing the facilities and putting the chips to the middle of the table, its not my money, but I dont want to hear peep from Franklin once his castles get built. Losing to Minnesota and Maryland and Illinois needs to end. Let's give him all he wants and take away his excuses in the process.
