Does the regular season mean less in baseball than any other sport?

It seems like in baseball, whichever team gets hot at the right time wins it all. OM barely made it in the tourney but is three outs from winning the natty. In MLB, the Braves only won 88 games last season but caught fire in the playoffs and won the WS. It doesn’t seem to matter how you do in the regular season as long as you make it in postseason. Other sports can be that way too, but it doesn’t seem to ever be as much as baseball.

True but you still have to be competitive during the regular season to get to the playoffs. Unfortunately we weren’t. Worried about next season with our pitching issues.

I don’t think there’s an equivalent to how hard it is to win the Final Four….

Usually in the CWS, you have teams that have had great regular seasons and a favorable draw in the regionals. Rebs this year were a version of ‘85 Villanova, but mainly because their coaches mismanaged them for at least half a season. This isn’t a young team….
