Mike Elko is a really good coach and Duke’s turnaround is an awesome story.

This feels like the end of Clemson as an annual contender. They do not look remotely as talented as other top teams or even previous Clemson teams. Florida State might run them out of their own stadium in three weeks.

Clemson has been on a slow decline for awhile now. Dabo deserves credit for how much he built them back up, but he still never did anything special without Lawrence or Watson at QB. Those 2 are franchise NFL QB’s. He has yet to find another one, and it looks like the Venables departure is hurting as well.

Recruiting websites are so biased by the offer sheet and adjust stars based on where recruits commit whether they admit it or not. Clemson’s no visit policy for commitments essentially shuts down any further evaluation by other schools’ coaches. That could be the recipe for a roster being a tad bit overrated. Especially with Dabo being so anti-portal. I imagine their real “blue-chip ratio” is not >50% as the websites report.
